Also, Harlem Berry is going to be a stud when used correctly.
This was said last year about Durham and we see what has happened to him.
In HS it took a very trained eye to spot Marshall Faulk(well on defense and punt returns it was easy) when he had the ball he had 8-10 people running freely to chase him.

If you keep him on staff, his only role is to recruit the players he is told to. No input from FW

Serious question - in the age of unlimited analysts and support staff why are we still hiring position coaches who primarily function as recruiters? It seems obvious that the skill set required to get the the best players to campus and the skill set required to develop those players are two distinct things.

Are you that stupid?

Call out fans about not using analysis when any legitimate analysis shows he actually makes our RBs worse as they get his coaching

Why can’t he be sent to assist Austin Thomas? Are those guys allowed to recruit?

Imagine watching one game where he is cleaning up the mess of another coach and thinking it’s representative of his long term coaching abilities.

He will be on the next staff, not the HC

Retention as what?
He is one of the best recruiters in the history of the school. There must be a place for him.

as checked out as BK was it is pretty clear that as AHC Frank’s role was far bigger than any of us realized

I’m seeing a pattern here Mr Duke.

His RB room has sucked, the last good one he had was Helaire don't be shocked when he's promoted this shite can get ugly real fast
Frank Wilson left LSU in December of 2015 to be the HC at UTSA and did not return to LSU until Brian Kelly was hired in December of 2021.
Wilson's last running back room was Fournette, Williams and Guice.
Helaire signed in the 2017 class, over a full year after Wilson had left the LSU program to be the HC at UTSA.

There were some positives that I saw . The team seemed energized , tackling was better , they seemed to get a little monentum going . MVB does not have alot of chemistry with the 1s . VB should have started from the 2nd half of the A&M game . Nuss cannot step up in the pocket and has feet of clay . He should take his 4 million and get out of football . The team is not that far away from being good . Everything cannot be fixed in 2 weeks . We are headed in the right direction , though . Be supportive and patient .

quote:This. Just get him off the field as RB Coach. He couldn't teach some of his players how to the find the OL crease and his player rotation-usage was poor.
I think keeping him around as director of personnel or recruiting director etc is not a bad idea to keep all the old players happy as they donate and support the program externally.

Why don’t some of clowns just go tell all of our recruits to hit the road.Yall might not like the fact that most of LSU players are black but the fact is they love FW and he gets them here.Fire Frank say good by to good players.you people are so myopic.

He is an awful running backs coach that has seen nearly every player he coaches regress from freshman year on.
Here are the RBs that came in as freshmen that he coached in his tenure here from 2010-2015. Spenser Ware, Alfred Blue, Michael Ford, Terrence McGee, Kenny Hilliard, Jeremy Hill, and Darrel Williams? Tell me which of these regressed from their freshman year on. Nearly every one?
In this stint, it is Kaleb Jackson, Trey Holly, and Caden Durham that he has had for more than their freshman season (Harlem Berry and JT Lindsey for their freshman season this year). Jackson has regressed, I think. But Durham has had to run behind this line and with this playcalling. Holly had off-field issues.

He’s good at forming connections with kids and their families
So is NIL money. We have no real use for Wilson after this season.

Let's see:
Spencer Ware - 7+ ypcs his freshmen year, 4.0 & 3.9 ypc next two years
Alfred Blue sucked until
Alfred Blue - better in the NFL than in college. His best year in college, he had 539 yards total rushing. Nothing to glorify.
Michael Ford was a bust overall despite being a 5 start - less than 400 yards per year in two out of 3 years. His best year was 2011, but even that was underwhelming.
Kenny Hilliard was another 5 star bust who never broke 500 yards in season and was no better than his freshman year any year.
Jeremy Hill only played 2 years, but was perhaps his one great job.
Fournette was a freak that really didn't change from freshman year and despite his sophomore year his vision actually got worse from his freshman year on and he was simply a physical beast.
Coached Guice only his Freshman year and Williams only for two years where Williams had a combined roughly 600 yards rushing mostly in garbage time. Williams and Guice's best years came after Wilson left.
Looking at his running backs since returning, every single one has regressed:
Jackson, Durham, Emory (up and down and never lived up to his hype outside of a couple of games), Noah Cain was bad. Godwin and Bradford never developed.
Josh Williams was the only one and he had been on the team 3 years before Wilson came and had already shown himself to be a good back and never really jumped much higher.
In the end, Wilson sucks as a Running Back coach and was bailed out by a couple of Freaks in all his time at LSU with Fournette and Hill. Other than them, not a single running back has lived up to the hype and nearly all of them regressed if he coached them past their freshman year.
