Am I the only one still optimistic

about this baseball team? Regardless of how this weekend’s series ends up, it’s still early and CJJ will eventually figure out the right lineup and pitching rotation. They may not win a NC this year(can’t expect that every year) but they will be a threat to win it again by the end of the season.

It’s over. Football right around the corner.

I’m optimistic. Lots of moving around parts but I expect improvement and we could be real dangerous at the end of the season.
We may just steal a series on the road against #1

I'm still tentative. If we can avoid getting run-ruled this weekend it'll be a yuge step forward.

A lot of young bats on this team. They'll get better with experience as the season moves along. I just wish the schedule wasn't so brutally top-heavy.

I don’t expect us to win it all this year. If I had to lay a bet on whether we go to Omaha or not I would bet that we don’t.
I still think this is going to be a very good team at the end of the year with a legit chance to make it to the CWS.

I’ve hopped off the wagon. Hope to get back on if things turn around.

Nothing says a threat to win like a 2-7 sec record

I’ll support the team no matter how the rest of the season goes.

I’m very optimistic. This is a whole new team. They need time together to really start playing their best. The talent is there.

I feel like we’ve had a couple of losses that could have gone the other way very easily. I don’t see this team repeating yet, but I definitely see potential in them getting more series wins.

Only a pussy thinks the season is over and complains about every loss.

about this baseball team?
Nah, a lot of us are optimistic. I don't love how things have unfolded so far. But in yesterday's game LSU face probably the best pitcher in the NCAA. Prior to the game he had given up 11 hit and 4 runs in 29 innings. In 6 innings last night he gave up 5 hit and 2 runs. I'd rather win but that isn't nothing.

I don't think this is the type of team to make a run to the world series.
They still have enough talent to make the tournament

I am optimistic they will improve. There is a lot of room to improve.

These people don't KNOW baseball we just played this year Paul Scenes.

Part of me wishes some of these sallies we have for fans could see what happens in the locker room. Problem is Jay is probably irate and anything public could get him in trouble. I don't think for 1 second that Jay is sitting back and letting these players make mistake after mistake. frick sake he won a natty last season. I'm still gonna attend as many games as possible no matter what.

I love the moves Jay made last night getting some young guys in some big spots, on the road, against the #1 ranked team. Jay is coaching this team with the post season in mind. I think we will see the Tigers really start to click, and go on a tear in the back half of the season, and roll into the post season with a lot of momentum.
It's crazy the gauntlet they are starting off with in SEC play. Ideally the molding and improving phase would come against opponents you can take a series from without having to be firing on all cylinders. But it is what it is. Go try and get a regional host spot and be playing our best baseball then.

Here is the reason to be optimistic:

Ole Miss wins the 2022 Men's College World Series NCAA
Ole Miss takes down Oklahoma, 4-2, to win the 2022 Men's College World Series
Ole Miss took down Oklahoma, 4-2, to win the 2022 Men’s College World Series. It’s the Rebels’ first MCWS title in school history.
The Rebels were on the ropes entering the bottom of the eighth inning. Down 2-1 and with Oklahoma’s Cade Horton dealing, momentum was fully on the Sooners side as Oklahoma tried to force another game.
But with one out and TC McCants on first base after a single, Horton was taken out for Trevin Michael.
With Michael on the mound, Ole Miss’ Justin Bench kicked things off with a single to move McCants to third base. McCants was sent home when Jacob Gonzalez knocked another single to plate him, tying the score at 2-2.
Then came two wild pitches. The first scored Bench to make it 3-2. The second scored Gonzalez to extend the lead to 4-2, adding some insurance.
Prior to that explosive eighth inning, Oklahoma had the pressure on Ole Miss.
The Rebels opened the scoring in the sixth inning when Gonzalez knocked a solo shot to make it 1-0. But the Sooners responded in the top of the seventh. Jackson Nicklaus doubled to left field, scoring a run and tying the game. Then, with the bases loaded, Kendall Pettis was walked, paving the way for Wallace Clark to score and Oklahoma to take the 2-1 lead.
Due to their comeback, the Rebels became the first team to win a championship game when trailing after seven innings since LSU in 2000.
Ole Miss’ bats were held at bay for most of Sunday due to an outstanding performance from Horton. He went 7.1 innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits and 13 strikeouts.
The Rebels’ Men’s College World Series win is impressive in both the grand scheme of Ole Miss history and in terms of the field of 64 selected for a shot at Omaha.
Ole Miss was one of the “Last 4 in” on selection day and is the fourth regional No. 3 or 4 seed to win the MCWS since the NCAA tournament expanded in 1999.
Ole Miss was one of the “Last 4 in” on selection day for the field of 64.
LSU can catch fire at any point in the season. Anyone giving up should go play bingo.
I’m very optimistic. Don’t ever give up.
