re: SEC Makes Amendment To Federal Case, Seeking Authority To Expel LSU From The League

Sounds like it’s time for a massive countersuit.
Selective enforcement for policies is illegal.
I’m thinking we put a dome on Tiger Stadium first after they settle.

After settling our lawsuit against the SEC for trying to kick us out once we roster and play our two “pro” players, we’ll be able to build a new dome Tiger Stadium from the ground up!
re: So does Stankey drop the frivolous lawsuit against Lane?

I believe that’s our winning stance that the SEC selectively enforces their rules.
This is simply another example.
I don’t think we’re done with these players, and Imdont think Lane and LSU aren’t done fighting.
They didn’t need to roster these players today, they were still ineligible due to time with team.
We changed the narrative to the SEC screwed them and the NCAA dropped the ball.

I don’t think we’re done with these two guys, and I don’t think Lane and LSU are done fighting.
I think since neither of these players has practiced enough, they were strategically left off the roster to stay on the upside of not doing anything “wrong”.
I think this will get more interesting, not just fade away.
Them being rostered and playing against Ole Miss will be classic melt down time.

We’re seeing the end results of feminism. They’ve created men hating women and demonized being male.

re: Did anyone enjoy the world cup?

It was a lot of fun. Went to KC for the Netherlands vs Tunisia match and got to march with the Oranje Army, 36K fans and their 2 double decker buses they imported for the WC.
Met a bunch of people, mostly from the Netherlands but also a few from Tunisia or with Tunisian background.
The visitors were shocked how great our country and people were compared to the impressions the media portrays.
Soccer on TV is boring but live it’s actually pretty intense, especially at the WC level.

re: Off-season thread - favorite punt or kickoff return for LSU
Posted by tigger42day on 7/30/26 at 7:38 pm to LSU_Legz
It was McFadden on a wildcat right up the middle for 80 yards.
We were in the end zone and watched the seas part and McFadden run untouched up the middle, then watched Trindon run the opposite way and shut the Piggies up.
The Pig next to me was screaming they had us on McFaddens run, then shut up after Trindon said “hold my beer”

Another favorite is Trindon Holliday with the 92 yd KO return on 2006 against Arkansas. Darren McFadden had just gone 80 yds untouched up the middle for a TD and the stadium in Little Rock was going crazy. The Hogs kicked off and Trindon took off and the stadium went from wild to absolute silence…
Except for the screaming Tiger fans!!

re: Logan Schmidt isn’t signing with the Cleveland Guardians. But will he join the Tigers?
Posted by tigger42day on 7/27/26 at 1:40 pm to LSUFanHouston
It’s an option and it’s worked a few times.
IF he performs well at JUCO he might get drafted higher or command a higher signing bonus. He risks that he doesn’t do well OR does OK but doesn’t get a better offer, which is the more common end result.
He will likely get more innings at a JUCO versus at LSU as a freshman.
Interesting conundrum, hope he’s wearing P&G next season!

I’ll argue he’s a 17 year old kid who wants to make it to the MLB and get paid what he thinks he’s worth.
IF he chooses the route via LSU I expect he’ll be a fine teammate as that’s his choice to achieve his goal.
It’s not like we’re forcing him to accept NIL money
If nothing else, it’s given us baseball fans things to talk about. Heck, some of the tards at Hogville are freaking out about us possibly getting him to campus.
Life is full of simple pleasures

No doubt, hoping he comes to the conclusion he’ll make more money coming to LSU (ok, I’m biased )

The slot value for the 58th pick this year was $1,487,200 and they had $1,700,000 to offer.
He wanted far above slot value.

No doubt he’s probably not getting the $1.7 mil in NIL, but he gets that money so let’s say he markets himself decently and gets $500K plus the value of a college degree program. Subtract that from his Guardians “value” and to break even he’s only got to now earn a bit over $1 mil at signing.
Plus he has three years of training under his belt without spending a penny. In the minors, he’s living off that $1.7 mil after taxes during those three years.
If he’s successful at LSU, he signs for far more than that.
Heck of a conundrum, I’m hoping he picks us as the best answer.

But is that a realistic argument? The goal, to get paid is to get to the Show, not just “pitch” baseballs.
Is passing on college (3 years) and going straight to the minors actually speed up his time to pitch in the MLB? My simple Google search said it’s faster to the MLB via the college route than it is via straight to minors. (4.5 years vs 6.5 years). Maybe our board experts can add detail to that number.
Considering that injury can happen anytime, and is often “inevitable” it doesn’t really hold water that skipping college offers a lower chance of injury on the route to the MLB.
To me the risk is simply will he make more money via JUCO and redraft versus NIL and college development versus the $1.7 mil on the table.

It’s access to work visas not citizenship.
re: R's add in amnesty in new farm bill.
Posted by tigger42day on 7/20/26 at 11:14 am to Night Vision
It applies to worker visas not citizenship. There are many agricultural jobs that simply won’t get done without migrant labor. Making it easier for them to obtain legal work status in the US is a great idea.
These aren’t the people we need out of the US.
And for those claiming they’re slave labor, you don’t have a clue. The ag businesses have been utilizing migrant labor for a long time and the quality of their work is almost always far superior to any local labor and they’re paid for it because if you don’t pay them, the farmer down the road will.
