I'm talking about Harris, Smith, et al coming back for Bama

Can you list all of the LSU players that left early last year that were the first player drafted at their position?
There was Clyde
But like the other poster said Harris wasn’t going in the first maybe not the second.

Bama can get these guys to return because they probably don’t oversell the NFL like we do
If Orgeron and Staff refuse to put LSU first and foremost, then get some people in here who will!
I'm personally all done with the O experiment. We've all seen enough of what and who he is.
Time to cut bait and move on.
It will be nothing but inconsistency and mediocrity as long as he's here without the Brady-Burrow bottled lightning scenario......

I’d be willing to bet Bama and Nicky sell the NFL while recruiting just as much if not more. IMO that’s a tired and fruitless argument. The question shouldn’t be why are they leaving (money) bit why aren’t they staying? And the “they” are the ones who don’t grade out well in the NFL draft.

........they give'um stuff like shiny new cars. Bama has simply perfected the art of greasing the palms better than anybody in the SEC. Plus it does help the SEC Conference front office is located in Birmingham.
Collegiate Football is not a sport of amateurs anymore. Bascially collegiate football teams are farm clubs for the NFL.
......and the NCAA is the NFL's bitch.
yawn

When they sign their scholarship papers every year, they have a clause that says if they stay, they will get an undisclosed large amount of money. That is their process of retaining players.

It's pretty simple, actually.
Most athletes like to win. Most athletes play with the hopes of going pro one day.
Winning at winning programs raises your draft stock
Nick Saban created a winning culture that provides the ultimate hedge:
If you start and perform, you have the potential to go pro and earn millions of dollars.
Even if you don't go pro, you stand a great chance of winning at least one NC during your time there.
What athlete would resist this?

Iirc Saban said that he'd never try to convince a projected first or second round pick to stay, but we know his word doesn't hold much value to say the least
The thing is LSU has early departures from underwater players and players that aren't even graded for the top 2 rounds
Losing first round talent early and even some second round is one thing but losing players that shouldn't be leaving is a diff story

it's a good point... when you oversell the NFL as a benefit, you can't be surprised when they disproportionately leave early
THIS!!!!

Meanwhile we can’t get guys like Charles to return who never put a full season of solid play on tape and could have def improved his draft stock coming back. Yet declared and didn’t get drafted until the 4th and is now not even on the active roster.
this is the most mind boggling part of all the early departures. Forget the sure fire 1st or 2nd round draft picks. Why would a guy who can improve his stock if he stays leave early for the above mentioned scenario?
This is what has truly crippled LSU's roster, not the first round departures, but the guys mentioned above.

Love it or hate it, Alabama has become a world class organization with incredibly deep pockets. A place an athlete is proud to be a part of. Their 3 year returning players are rock stars. Can you name another left tackle in the SEC other than Leatherwood? The coaching and development of players

Yeah I was Sold LSU would build the OLine/Dline to compete with Bama and top dogs on a yearly basis. O even said it. the game in the SEC is won in the trenches. Yet Our Oline/Dline has been Avg at best since O toke over. Yeah i'm including last years Oline. If you look at the Film Burrow made those guys look a whole lot better than they really were
Come on guy, Joe was great, but that line wasn't chopped liver. It included the NFL rookie stating center at Denver, the NFL rookie starting guard/center at Seattle, the 4th round pick by Washington that was tapped a starter after the 5th game of his NFL rookie season, but is out because of injury. That's 3 linemen drafted by the 4th round and all three having won starting spots during their NFL rookie seasons. Tell me what other team that has ever produced that in NFL history. Maybe none has sent 3 offensive linemen that became starters in the NFL rookie seasons.
In other words that line was much better than what you give them credit for being. And a 4th member of that line signed an NFL free agent contract and is on an NFL practice squad. That line contributed to Joe Burrow's success, not hindered it. Put them in front of Finley, and his play improves dramatically.

What most people don't realize is that Bama players take a substantial cut in pay when they leave Bama for the NFL.

Yeah and in the 131 previous posts in the thread NO ONE made this joke

Because they have Football players more concerned about Football than Social Justice
And we all know putting social justice and equality for your race above the game of football makes you the worst in the eyes of those wonderful LSU "fans" who support you. Those great fans who would inspire you to delay your dream of playing in the NFL to sacrifice and come back to play for their enjoyment and excitement. The fans that will always have your back because of your sacrifice for LSU. The ones that don't turn on former players like a pack of rabid dogs.
I don't know about Bama fans, but the LSU fan base is littered with far too many people of this guy's ilk. "Fans" who are racist and couldn't care less about the players or the players' families. Who don't believe in Social Justice for players and their families. Especially once the players are no longer useful. I can't see how those type "fans" would inspire players to delay their dreams to play in the NFL. In fact, those type "fans" would only inspire players to get away from their nauseous bile as soon as possible.

EVERYTHING RISES OR FALLS ON LEADERSHIP.....Obviously their leadership in most every category is better than ours.

Players leave early all the time at Bama. They just have five stars up and down the roster that they can replace easily.

While this very well may be the truth, they were not even the best o line in the conference, let alone the country.
Bama and Georgia had better offensive lines than us last year.

Well I mean if I was a college head coach my main goal would be to win a NC as well.

Guys return because they consistently are in the hunt for a CFP berth...same is true of Clemson and OSU. I've never heard of an opt out at those schools...That's what makes them elite...consistency, man, consistency.
