Would you rather have a good baseball team and a meh stadium. Or a shitty baseball team and a state of art stadium
Why are those the only two options?

Money simply not there. Going to players transferring in with ridiculous payouts.

You missed the blatant sarcasm, baw??
You people don't understand the bond Nick and I have.
He posts. I make fun.
He knows it, I know it...it's our thing.
There's a reason the two of us were voted "Tiger Rant Cutest Couple" in 2025.

When baseball is good, people show up. That's all that matters to LSU. We don't need the best baseball stadium in the country, just build the best baseball team and I'm happy.

Good for them. Southern Miss is pouring a lot of money into baseball. You know why? It is the only thing they are competitive at. The entire rest of their athletic department is literal horseshite.
Verge has a lot of mouths to feed at LSU. And that is a good thing because we are top notch at quite a few sports and trending up with football and men's basketball, which are the 2 cash cows.
Sorry Verge can't reach into his pocketbook every time some of you bitch about non-chairback seats and where the bullpen is located.

I hate to beat a dead horse but we have to get some upgrades soon to The Box.
I am not against improvements but this idea that this is a must is ridiculous. How many players have we lost or tickets not sold due to Alex Box stadium 'deficiencies?"
If improvements are made they will be for long term maint needs or to get more cash out of your wallets.

If any sport at any school is counting on only the NIL proportion to fund onlytheir program, they will fall behind other coaches who proactively go out and promote their own program and raise their own funds.
CMM lost his job IMHO in large part because he had no taste for fund raising, he left that to others to his own detriment. This is a different era and if coaches don't understand that or don't want to play that they will get left behind and lose their jobs too.
what the frick are you talking about or responding to? The guy I responded to posted how much total NIL we are estimated to be funding to all sports. He also said baseball has 8% of that total number, so I did simple math. Nothing more nothing less. Your response to my post makes no sense in that context

My response was more to the general tenor of this topic and what it often times becomes, not specifically to your take - where some here seem to lobby for their particular sport not getting enough of that pie.
Your take - at least the way I read it - was that in this case baseball's portion of the NIL pie was fine in the context of what they generate. I agree.
But I chose to expound on that as many come to pound the table for their sport - that if any specific sport feels shafted in their piece of the pie - they need to pull up their britches and work for it not sit back and wait for it and whine about it.

It was being passed up the day it opened.

USM isn’t pouring money into baseball.
All they did was come up with a plan to improve their baseball stadium. The key part of the plan is a fundraising drive to raise 25 million dollars.
The athletic department isn’t putting up anything.

If we have extra funds, sure. I wouldn’t rob other pockets of money for social spaces and a different advertising board. Upgrade the batter’s eye, fine.
Not sure why people think concession prices mean you have been passed up. That’s an issue with the group contracted to run things.
Seatbacks throughout the stadium would be great, but it will drop capacity a tad and end up with higher ticket prices. Do we also need some condos built around the outfield?
