The new Box is awfully designed.
As others have said:
Chairbacks
Flags of sec schools
Concessions
Getting around that stadium is also the biggest pain the arse. You feel like you’re constantly going up and down stairs.
LSU seriously needs to build a damn pedestrian bridge across Nicholson but I guess they’ll wait til a child runs away from their parent and gets killed before they do that.
They also need to burn whatever music playlist they currently use and start over.
If they aren’t going to build a berm, they need to turn the entire RF bleachers into a student section.
Remove the signage on the LF and RF bleachers (DIAMOND DECK?!) Those phrases look so fricking cheesy.
Bring back the stand alone concession stand from the old Box that was behind the third base bleachers. Called it the diamond grill and they actually grilled burgers. They had the huge picnic area too thst you could eat at. That’s another big thing missing from the new box. Aside from the tables by the playgrounds, there’s really nowhere to sit and eat (if you’re brave enough to order food).

The Box needs a major design overhaul.
1. Remove both areas of outfield bleachers.
2. Build roof all the way down both baselines.
3. Put seatbacks in every seat in the stadium.
4. Raise the roof around from 3rd base to 1st base and build an upper deck to make up for lost seats in the outfield.
5. Build real bull pens in the outfields.
6. Build berms in both outfields for students.

I like your ideas but I don’t see this happening. You would have to demolish or move the suites. That to me is probably the biggest mistake they made. Everything else can be fixed.

The new Box was built for the top and bottom of the grandstand; that's where the money is. They won't change anything about those areas.
There will not be a berm at Alex Box because it won't make the money that the bleachers do and there is no available room for both.
Bullpens outside the fences are not feasible due to lack of space unless the fences are brought closer to the grandstand. This would put the plate too close to the grandstand, IMO.
The batters eye will not be changed because it adequately serves its purpose, as is.
I think seat backs down the lines would be an upgrade that could be done.

I don’t understand the obsession with berms for LSU baseball. Is it just because you can bring alcohol with you and sit on a hill?

I cannot agree to contribute to this unless LSU proposes this and sets up a fundraising for it. But, yes I would contribute more to this that you would. :-)

Asked about that yesterday and was told it won't be up for this season. Kind of figured that was the case since there was no evidence of it being installed yet.

USCe got a new stadium the same time as us and did it the right way
