Some of my most enjoyable preseason times at the old Box were the alumni and old timers games. The old timers games were just for fun with pre Bertman players "competing" for bragging rights. The alumni games were a bit more serious contests between Bertman's ex players and the current team. For college baseball fans, it made for an entertaining day.

In past meetings, I think they tried passing a mike around for questions but it didn't work efficiently. Sometimes coach Jay repeats the questions prior to answering.

We probably don't have two dominant starters as last year, but there are more capable starters who can also be long relievers. Several closer and stopper candidates as well. Defense should be adequate and offense will be a bit more power laden. Third and second base are the contested positions so far with capable players vying for starter roles. Qualified depth at every position. IMO, Omaha is a realistic goal.

IMO, neither is a lock to start. Infield won't be decided till spring and there will probably be some platooning as well.

You are correct, I fixed my op. Brown and Braun are playing RF and their names are too similar for me to keep straight sometimes.
