I have too, and yes you are. Sure, it's fun but "one of the coolest things in college sports" is an exaggeration.

It’ll NEVER be done in time.

I put this in the other thread.
As for the current box:
-"Baseball at the Box" back on the press box
-Chair back the entire stadium
-Permanent batter's eye
-Flags of all conference teams
-Enclose the back of the grandstand
-Create a concourse that goes all the way down the lines to match the grandstand
-Work on some sort of public parking across Gourrier to recreate the tailgating atmosphere that existed along Skip Bertman Dr. with the old box

Also there will be locker/shower room just for former LSU baseball players who are in professional baseball. Those former players will be able to use the workout room in the off season and will have a place to shower and change clothes with an assigned locker space for them with their picture above their locker. Mainieri said he's planning on using that "professional" locker room as an additional recruiting tool when recruits visit the Box.
Waste of money. Improve the lacking fan experience.

In what specific ways?
fla and state are getting hella awesome stadiums.
scar has some amenaties the box doesn't.
bama's new stadium has an interesting student area in right field.
as already pointed out, ole miss has an incredible outfield situation
ark has never stopped upgrading. they have 2 major upgrades in the pipeline including a club level in left field that will wrap around the foul pole.
the days of the box being clearly the best are over. the other sec schools have proven they are willing to keep pace with lsu in regards to facilities. at this point, it's just a matter of staying in the top tier and having some features that are unique to your experience. it's definitely time for lsu to conduct a significant renovation.

As I said in the other thread
It was time to renovate or move on from the Old Box but it was a few years before SEC programs began the big push on new baseball stadiums. LSU went first and a bunch of schools followed after with nicer stadiums.
In the classic Skip Bertman style the Box was designed cheap. It needed chairs down the lines. And not the raggedy arse old left field bleachers from the Old Box LSU moved over because they claimed the fans in those sections wanted them moved over.

Please get rid of those fricking bleachers in the outfield and on the baselines and put stadium seats with backrests. So much more comfortable and easier on the eyes.

Key phrase is “static advertising.” They could easily put an ad as part of the stat display and it all disappears when there is a replay. In that scenario, the ad(s) would still be there a majority of the time.
If you think LSU is going to expand a space that attracts eyeballs and not attempt to make some money with a few ads, I have some oceanfront property in Kansas I’d like to sell you.

Single color ads look so much better. Braum was smart doing that. White ink on dark green outfield pad is all class.

Wait you think improving the fan experience is more important than improving the player experience and to impress recruits. You know the reason LSU is a top notch baseball program is because of those recruits they get in because they have the best facilities for players in the country. I understand the fans want better experience but the most important thing is the players and recruiting.

solid ideas.

Better concession would be great...how can we have such incredible food here in South louisiana....and the worst food at sporting events....only thing that I buy anymore is water or a drink

The berm is absolutely overrated and why would we want to copy anything from ole miss? I get the stands aren’t the best, but let’s figure something out that reflects our university.

At the very least they need to start replacing the bleachers in left field to mirror the backs like the ones in right field.

Gray Tiger, most of these Nimrods on the Rant are oblivious to reality. Let's go back to the Joe Dean days when LSU resisted Corporate Sponsors and ads.
You remember back when Jumpin' Joe hired Curley Hallman, then fukced up the Pat Sullivan hire by not paying his puny buyout to TCU, then had to go "hat in hand" to Gerry Dinardo to fill the LSU position?
Back then LSU was losing top coordinators like Carl Reese to Texas for a whopping 100k. After 4 years at LSU, Dinardo's staff pay was only the 8th highest in the SEC (12 team SEC).
He had one Hell of a time keeping a staff or hiring replacements because of the money restrictions of Joe Dean.
Let's return to that era? No thanks.
By the way, today LSU's football staff is the #1 highest paid staff in the country.
Long story short. Let the idiots on the Rant bitch. Most of them are too young to remember past 8 to 10 years ago. Lol.

What's strange is that they're all easy, simple fixes. It's like the AD has zero vision sometimes.

F that... am I the only one who loves to shite talk the visiting bullpen between innings?
I feel they should improve the PA system. The music sounds terrible

I get why Paul doesn’t want one. But every seat in the stadium is within ear distance of some old timer who keeps a count as a hobby.
