Do you realize how stupid this Saban analogy is?

Dont care who Saban lost to. LSU should not lose to Troy no matter who the coach is. And yes, compared to LSU as a program, Troy is a complete scrub.

Just like I said last summer. There’s 4 losses on the schedule. People criticized me when I said it. They were very lucky to win some of those games. This years team will top out at 8 wins. It depends on how bad of a beating they take in Dallas week 1.

To that I would say that after his first game in '16 vs Missouri, he said they were gonna "go, go, go, pedal to the metal." Can you objectively say that was the same philosophy last year?

I don't recall him saying that but if you are going to run an up-tempo offense you better be able to rotate fresh backs. If he said it after the Misouri game in '16, it's when he had a rotation of Fournette, Guice and Williams. Last year he had Guice who was slowed by injury, Williams and not much else.

You can do that. Wanna go back to Orgeron's 10 overall wins in 3 seasons and Jimbo's national championship and 3 first round quarterbacks, one of which was actually the Heisman winner?

2 of those 1st round QB's were total busts and the 3rd has underperformed. Wanna talk about Jimbo losing a bowl game to a team from the American Athletic Conference?

For me yeah, if we are worse than 10-2 I'm done with O.

What does that have to do with college football?

You mean that one-loss AAC team whose coach Alleva tried to hire before Orgeron?

So they were great in college but not in the pros. Wonder if the coaching had something to do with it?

10-2 would be a miracle

the real question is what will LSU do if it is an 8 win season

Wow. Two improper uses of your/you're in one sentence. And we're the LOSERS. Try not to spit when you type.

FWIW, I support LSU. I will pull for LSU. But that does not obligate me to believe that O is the best man for the job. And if I think he is not doing a good job, and he isn't, I will say so.

With last years schedule maybe. This is a talented roster on both sides of the ball. But with this schedule I’m afraid 10-2 is the ceiling. Maybe 10-2 with only one sec loss and we make it to Atlanta

ST coach has nothing to do with how accurate a FG kicker is. They work on that on their own during the season anyways. That wouldn't have made a bit of difference in our FG kicking.

Now it could have in punt return, kick return and coverages and that's on O. It was his first year and he did try to fill those needs this year.

So last year, I think it was during the bowl game but I can’t remember, when the announcer reviewed the footage of the missed FGs to that point in the game and noted that our kicker was stopping a split second before he got to the ball and that seemed to be causing his kicks to go off wide, you don’t think having a ST coach would have potentially fixed that issue?

He may not be the best man for the job, but he is THE MAN ON THE JOB and no one can claim that they love LSU and at the same time wish Coach O to be a failure at this time.

He will write his own history.

Saban won conference championships his second year. These Saban comparisons will be null and void starting this year.

Yep, and Kirby Smart went 8-5 at UGA his first year and was in the NC game last year (his second year). So O gets his mulligan for 2017 but he has no excuses in ‘18.

And the 2017 LSU team was much better than the 2000 LSU and 2007 Bama teams.

Can you clarify what your asking?

...7 pages later, sorry, I had moved on with the day... Alls I was saying was maybe our schedule seems so horrendous because every team in the SEC is trying to keep up with Bama and cracks start showing, questions and distractions come, losses happen, they can't keep up and coaches start getting fired. Every team is dealing with it. You can't even point to Georgia bc Richt was run out of town for the same thing Miles was...

eta. maybe Georgia is the best example actually now that I read that again...

They know he is. That's the difference.

He's going to write his history at age 56? Hasn't most of it already been written?
