The other day when I said this very thing basically, I was labeled an O hater, being negative and attacking people that say anything positive about the program.
funny how that works huh?

His resume has been posted and dissected ad nauseam. Simply put, it does not compare favorably to any of the men you mentioned.

I didn't say that it did - hence the reason I said that sometimes you need to look past the resume. After the 2016 season people were also slobbering over the resumes of Tom Herman and Larry Fedora who were 7-6 and 3-9 respectively last year. You had people wanting to poach Hugh Freeze after a 5-7 season at Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin who couldn't even parlay his success at Bama into a P-5 HC gig. Kliff Kingsbury and his 21-20 career record at the time were in the discussion. He's gone 11-14 since and has a career record of 16-29 in the Big XII. At some point people need to recognize that Orgeron is 21-8 in his last 29 games and forget that he was 10-35 when he took over a doormat program in the toughest conference in the nation.

Tom Herman
took over a complete rebuild. Improved his teams w/l record, won his bowl game in a blowout, had the number 3 ranked recruiting class in the country and beefed up his lines in the process. Herman is doing alright.

shite. With the talent on this team, if these coaches can get the offense going, this team can absolutely win 10 or 11 games. Not many teams in the country can match talent for talent with LSU. Especially in the top 30 of the roster.

So one side of his resume gets a qualifier, and the other doesn't? Got it.

"Give Ed Orgeron a chance. He's Nick Saban 20 years ago. He's going to win a ton of championships, he's going to compete. We're young, but he's going to bring talent, we can beat Bama...

Just don't have the expectation of winning. That's unfair."

To that I would say that after his first game in '16 vs Missouri, he said they were gonna "go, go, go, pedal to the metal." Can you objectively say that was the same philosophy last year? IMO, the interim coach wasn't the same coach we got last year when the pressure of being the full time coach was on his shoulders.

That said, I believe you see more of the pedal to the metal coach this coming season.

I predicted 7 reg season wins before Burrow, if we don't hit at least 9 reg season wins, this was a bad year.

Get LSU to 10-3 with a bowl win. If that happens, I promise you, with what we'll likely have coming back, we'll be considered a top 5-10 team for 2019.

I'm assuming you're referring to Miles.

No, I'm referring to Orgeron, who had the #1 kicker in the country in his own back yard playing high school ball with his son.

That kid is now at Bama. I don't know that he would have been the answer last year, but it couldn't have hurt given LSU "didn't have a place kicker."

If LSU fails to win at least 9 games the heat from the fan base will be cranked to 10. Orgeron can't afford to go backwards.

My point is that if Orgeron could rally the team from the devastating losses to troy and MSU, he has some magic in his bones that we didn't think he had in him.

Lots of teams, MOST teams, would have folded like a cheap suit if lost to troy and msu like that.

Bro, hell the frick no. After the Troy game we beat;

4-8 Florida which we almost lost to
10-4 Auburn
6-6 Ole Miss
4-8 Arkansas
4-8 Tennessee
7-6 TAMU

Every one of those teams except Auburn was hot garbage and fired their coach.

We beat 2 teams with a winning record, TWO, and one of them had 6 losses. Even before that we played 4-9 BYU, 3-8 Chattanooga, and 4-8 Syracuse.

Ed managed to win only 9 games against the worst schedule I've ever seen as an LSU fan.

Perfectly summed up the thinking/posting of many here. The level cognitive dissonance they reach when it comes to Orgeron and LSU is astounding.

The reaction of CFB fans around the country when they’re reminded Special Ed is still the HC @ LSU.

If JA had have stepped up and paid Fisher when the job was open , he would be here now. Why not complain about that ? Would Jimbo coming have pleased you guys , or would it be more of the same loud whining and complaining ? This must have been what Hillary's war room was like election night. It certainly makes for funny reading.

You said 10-2 Is the floor. You’re equating good news around the program (whatever that even means) into multiple wins.

If the last coach got a QB from Ohio St, we'd have NC aspirations.

If we don't put expectations on him we want him to fail. If we put expectations on him we're expecting too much. What the hell do you guys want?

The realistic floor this year is 5-7.

What our expected floor should be every year is 9-3, with that rarely happening.

That is why people are unhappy.

LSU had two losses in 2007 when we won the national championship. And not exactly to elite teams. 2 losses is never the "floor" in the SEC unless your hc is Nick goddamn motherfricking a-hole Saban.

It was the worst SEC West in a long, long time. (and UF)

Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss, and A&M fired their coaches. We got blown out by MSU. Lost to Bama. And got lucky against Auburn.

After all of the "it was his first year" comments, I guess we should pencil these 5 games in as wins.
