There is an in between feeling that isn't either panicking nor assured, which is concerned. I'm concerned, because we need to sign at least 8 quality players (excluding Reese), and we're competing against many other schools for the remaining transfers and recruits. Every day that passes is going to force us to be less selective, and that doesn't bode well for a good season. At this point, I will be shocked if we're able to sign 8 quality players.

Not only that but most of the SEC schools are loaded already. Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Texas and Kentucky are going to be another hard conference and they are still adding more players.

As usual, many take the extreme POV.
Yes, it is a bit concerning that Wade hasn't signed any players at this point. That's not an unreasonable opinion. Conversely, that doesn't mean he's NOT going to sign a roster, or even a very good roster. His 12 year record as a HC gives him the benefit of that doubt even though most probably expected news of at least 1-2 signings by this point

I think people are also discounting the Euro guys who tend to jump in later, given their season doesn't end until late May.

It's actually very smart.
) Currently, college head coaches are able to go on the road to recruit, if they choose to do so. Wade is one of those coaches, and multiple sources tell me he’s flown all around the country. How he’s been able to keep that quiet, to me, is rather impressive. But that’s been the goal, per sources. And it’s clear as to why. In this era of college basketball, you are up against not just other teams, but many times agents or a player’s representation who want to leverage any and all opportunities they can. That’s avoidable in some spots, but you’ve got to work quietly to bypass those potential hurdles.

Did not but best guess there is to simply not drive up the price on guys you get. Even "committing" somewhere without signing can get you a quick call and a quick flip if the price is right. Or announcing visits/meetings as simple as that as well.
As other teams build out their rosters with committed/signed guys from the portal this is less a chance to happen if you have players announce later and there's simply less competition out there competing as they fill up their rosters.
