This team btw was not a good team. They struggled through most of the season. They technically did not make the tournament. It was more of a play in seeding in which they lost. This line up is nothing to write home about.

I’m not assuming that he’s going to sign an all star roster when you have 15 spots to fill year 1. But he did replace an entire roster at NC State and win a lot more games than the prior season. Sure, the play-in isn’t a field of 64 game, but it is a tournament game.
We have no clue what the General has lined up. Just as with football you judge these things after all the hay is in the barn.

Except we know the numbers floated might not be real and Wade didn’t say we had an actual budget.
I don’t see any evidence that NIL values can be trusted and my assumption is it will stay that way once the foi lawsuit ends with NIL being something that the media and public doesn’t have a right to

The reported ~12 million he's getting for NIL will not get us a top tier roster this year. That would've been great last year, but this year the contenders are paying 2-4 million for each starter.
So 10 to 20 mil for just the starting 5? I feel like you are full of it.

Boo!
Him, Dual, and Lewis were 3 guys that I really wanted to see at LSU.

Narrative is being set by agents and not reality. Some schools are overpaying at this point. Will be interesting to see what happens once the entry window for the portal closes.

Is anybody filling up yet?

I'm pretty sure LSU is the only one on the list with less than two scholarship players

To be fair, Houston has a good amount of transfers. Although a few of the transfers are originally from the Houston area and they have an established program/vision. Two things working in their favor so far.

With LSU basketball inactive, I checked when Will Wade got transfers at NC State when portal opened 3/24
Quadir Copeland — 4/4
Alyn Breed — 4/9
Tre Holloman — 4/13
Colt Langdon — 4/24
Jerry Deng — 4/25
Terrance Arceneaux — 4/25
Darrion Williams — 5/22
Ven-Allen Lubin — 6/1
NC State had 6 players on the roster (2 returning and 4 recruits), so the urgency was lower. Also, the portal opened last year during the tournament, and many players waited until after the tournament to sign. He signed one of his best players, Copeland, several days before the tournament ended, giving him 7 players before 4/5. There were only 12 players from the top 100 transfers available last year when the portal closed. Wade did manage to get one of those 12, who happened to be the 6th rated, but that was the cherry on top of what he already had gotten.
Most of the rest of the big programs that haven't signed a transfer also have a bunch of returning players and recruits. We're in much worse shape than North Carolina State and these other programs. Wade may fill out the roster, but time is running out quickly to fill it out with quality players.

$1mil is not that much, if LSU is truly funding the program like it is being reported.
You keep getting caught up in the money (which likely isnt even being accurately reported), but there are many factors relative to each program which determines what is "a lot" and what is "a little". The two most important obviously being 1)allocated money and 2) Roster openings
That was 3 times the amount he was going to sign with lsu for. And the prices were different last yr.
Let's say a guy like him gets 1.5 or 1.7. Are you paying Miller that? I know I'm not.
I'll go get a couple of top players from smaller conferences. There are plenty of them in the tournament every yr.

I’ve been told to tell everyone to relax. We can revisit this message soon
