Jay’s a great coach, everyone agrees.

lol...are you reading this board? This is definitely not something everyone agrees with (not my opinion, just stating the facts).

you bring nothing to this board

Gonna stop you right there. This is a bullshite line started years ago by people who don’t know shite about basketball. And now people still run with it. It’s absurd and untrue. Wade ran multiple different offenses over his first time here to suit his roster. Which is EXACTLY what a good coach does.

Let me stop you right there. You missed the point of my post and go ahead and show me the skins on the wall that prove he's a great Xs and Os coach?

He is an outstanding roster and schedule builder. My point was that these really aren't debatable. I also wasn't saying he's not a good Xs and Os coach. Of the attributes I was talking about, I would not categorize Xs and Os as being "pretty elite" and was stating that if there is something to question, it would be that one.

I know basketball and I don't need you to point to one Sweet 16 appearance and one SEC title to try to tell me he is an elite Xs and Os coach, or point to changing offenses based on personnel as being elite. You won't convince me of that at this time and I'm not going to take your word for it because you think someone said that years ago and you classified it as "absurd."

Anyway, I'm in Wade's camp and also think that Xs and Os are partially a function of time and experience and hope that he'll become pretty elite there as well.
Would be nice for everyone to stay on topic here.

A couple of things. Wade didn't have the advantage of a pretty good roster. He didn't have a stacked transfer class. He didn't have time on his side. What he's doing is a gamble. It's calculated.

His coaching history (Xs and Os) can be questioned. His roster building and scheduling has been pretty elite. This is a new world. Does it suck to lose players to aTm and UH? Yeah. Is it possible he miscalculated? Maybe. It's better to pay a player who actually plays the whole season...might be part of it.

Whatever he's doing deserves some grace and some latitude. Let it play out. He and his staff's jobs and reputations are on the line, not any of ours.

I believe he's going to make the most of this and do whatever he can to put a winner on the floor. If he manages to do that in year one with these challenges, the future is brighter than ever.

starter or bench doesn't really matter. This is a guy that would play limited minutes, as the SEC will be a step up in athleticism.

So you’re saying we need to roster at least 6 players?
quote:

Michigan ,Houston, Xavier and aTm would disagree .

They also think you're an idiot.

And why do I give damn what those schools do? Wade has never been conventional. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you will realize he's trying to outplay, outwork, and outsmart the field. If he's wrong on this one, we lose one year. If he's right, we will shatter year-one expectations, he'll be a marked man, and players will love to come play for a coach and program that bets on them and makes headlines.

You can question his coaching, but his roster construction and schedule building has been incredible considering where he has coached.

Why wasn't Wade able to retain any of that talent?

You're an idiot. This is the perfect quote showing exactly why
quote:

I think he’s gambling that this pays off as well and I believe it will.

Also, he's betting on himself. He's probably about to have way more enemies than before...OG.

Again, worst case scenario is he has to scrap together a mildly competitive group. Best case, Indiana football, like you said. I've been waiting my whole life for a legit shot to win it all, so what's one more year if it comes to that?
quote:

He would make two out of 13.

2 for 13...we ridin...WWDGAF

seriously, when are all the P*ss*es around here going to learn WW isn't fckin around?

LSU never has that one white guy that is absolutely deadly from 3.

Mike Hansen says hello
I just don’t get the panic. All these people getting their panties in a wad. They think Wade came here without a plan and won’t fill out a roster…smh. And the admin is complicit. What’s wrong with you people?

I’ve been told to tell everyone to relax. We can revisit this message soon

The people panicking have PTSD from MM. They need to calm down

Could it be PJH asked for a number Wade wasn’t willing to go, not because he couldn’t but because he didn’t value him at that number?

Could be any reason. Doesn't matter the reason and no point in us trying to figure it out.
Hodson to Fuller should be retired. GOAT

Name to watch for LSU is Tylik Weeks out of Southern Miss. Last year averaged 19.7 ppg, 5.4 rpg, and 2.3 apg. Was a 1st Team All Sun Belt selection, as well as brings a lot of versatility at 6-8 but rangey and skinny enough to be positionless a player I think Wade will like. Also he has Juco roots which CWW loves and recruited his first two years at LSU, McNeese and NCSU.

You make a really good point. Wade is similar to Bob Huggins. The rub with Huggins at Cincy (and later WVU) was that he always relied on JUCO transfers, but the reality is that he knew how to build rosters. Cincy was always a name to watch in March because of it. Can't recall how coaching styles matched up, but I would love to be a modern day Cincinnati...but win one.

I think it's just time to just trust Wade and the rest of the administration. If JJ is the choice, there's a reason.

Those saying that in the age of NIL, relationships don't matter, are being foolish. There are always advantages to having the relationships.

You also have to just trust the Lake Chuck group...they aren't doing this with intent on failing.
