Josh Jordan has a good interview with John Eads on YouTube. Seems like they want to get little Pearson to play 3rd next year. He said good things about his bat.

That would be great. He does seem to have a good bat but needs to get in better shape to play third.

Pearson needs to lose some weigh, respectfully. Hope Martin gets in his arse, cause he has some upside.

He needs to get down to that 225 range. Would be able to move much better laterally and he has speed and athleticism already at his size so that would only help.

I know we all speculated Jay had a list, but now we have confirmation

I watched him take quite a few reps at 3B in the fall, since he spent most of his time there. He has fairly quick feet and movement in a short area, comparable to Tommy White. His glove was off and on and he will need reps, but should get there. I seen him racing Jared Jones and straight line speed was about the same. Arm was solid and accurate.

I think he could definitely play 3B and I really don't want him to lose a ton of weight. Some zumba wouldn't hurt though.

He played OF mostly in HS so it will take reps for him to get more comfortable but watching him pregame he doesn’t look completely lost. At his height 250+ is too much though. That 225 range would help him move around much better.

just browsing Cape box scores

-Nate Taylor pitched last night: 3ip 2er 4K, took the loss.

-Ashton Larson is playing for Chatham with Taylor and Arrambide. Started in LF last night. He is 3-9 early on.

-Chandler Dorsey is pitching with Hyannis. 6.2IP / 10K's / 1er / 4bb/ 4hbp

-Sheerin got hit around Tues. 2.2ip / 5H / 6R (2er) / 3 K

-Kucherak is on Orleans. Is off to an 0-8 start.

I never could get a read on this guy at LSU. This outing is strange for a couple of reasons: over six innings, and some Jacob Mayers-like numbers eight free passes with ten strikeouts and a low era. Patient manager.

Speaking of Jacob Mayers, he had a good outing in the MLB Draft League yesterday.

4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 7 K

He’s one of those guys that will probably be better in the pros vs what he was at LSU. Elite stuff.

He was very solid in the last 6 weeks of the season, after being very wild in the beginning. Looks like whatever Yeskie did to get him in control is sticking

I wish he would stick around for another year, but I don't think he will. He's got good enough stuff that some team will take a late flier on him and pay up. I really liked the improvements as the year went on.

Yeah there will definitely be an MLB team that wants that fastball for $350k+.

I don’t think it will be that late. Maybe somewhere in the 5th.

You're right and honestly this is probably more along the lines of what I actually meant. I just meant not super high.

His low workload this year means he will probably pitch right away in the minors, some 1 or 2 innings starts to wet his feet. But he will be groomed as a starter in single A next year. And they will keep him as a starter as long as possible.
