If jimbo makes him a priority and only takes him how can lsu compete with that?

Walker is already coming.

You think Jimbo isn’t recruiting 2022 QBs for the chance to land Holstein?

This kid is better than Arch and needs to be made the top QB prospect on our board. Hopefully Ed doesn’t fall in love with the Manning name.

I think Arch ends up at Ole Miss with Kiffin there and the guys we will currently have here.

Johnson
Nussmeier
Howard
Holstein??

but he did transfer once to play in high school earlier with Walker Howard around. Would be running into a similar scenario in college by coming here.

But the difference is you can get a year separation via Red Shirt season in college.

No way Sark lasts 2 years at Texas before falling off the wagon.

And still get some PT well into the season and maintain the RS.

While true, it's likely both redshirt when they come here, unless Walker Howard won the job as a true freshman in 2022, which isn't totally out of the realm of possibilities, but with Max Johnson likely still around, doesnt seem very likely sans maybe an injury which is also possible.

So essentially it would be:

2022: FR. Howard
2023: rFR. Howard, FR. Holstein
2024: rSO. Howard, rFR Holstein

They are still just a year apart. Holstein would likely have to be ok taking a seat for at minimum 2 if not 3 seasons coming here.

I think it will come down to GA and LSU. If our offense returns to something akin to 2019 I think he will be a Tiger. Kids not afraid to compete. He was a freshman when Keilon Brown was a SR. He could have beaten out Brown for the starting job.

These guys (Manning, Holstein) will probably make their decision no later than end of the 22 regular season. From their perspective the QB room will look something like this:

Johnson, Nuss, Howard. Didn't include TJ because I think he needs to play to develop and at this point it seems unlikey he will unseat Max, so I assume he transfers after 21. However, it's possible he could be there too. Assuming Howard is the second coming, Nuss would still be here because he wouldn't decide to transfer until after signing day, and Johnson may still be here in 23 too.

The point I'm trying to make is that's a pretty stacked QB room. Unless one of Manning/Holstein really wants to be here, I'm thinking we end up with a more developmental prospect like Rickie Collins mentioned above. This isn't about being afraid of competition; it's about not having to win a sprint with a sack of potatoes on your back because your competitor has a year to a year and a half head start.

I only say both are a priority at this time until one commits.

Kiffin is gone from OM before Sark leaves UT

Might even be before arch graduates HS

jimbo already has a 5* #1 DT QB in the country commit for his '22 class. So sir you are correct. jimbo is not waiting for Holstein. It will be the same at any major college in the country. A kid has to compete against older players everywhere.

Is it weird that we’re recruiting one QB named Manning and another named Eli? Don’t care. Either would be great tigers.
