I’m disappointed, IF today’s final recruiting results are finished. With Alabama and A&M in limbo this offseason, and DT depth as a definitive NEED, I was expecting, not hoping, expecting a flip. Blah, Blah in the Spring, yes I know, and I’m still hopeful for that, but where we are currently, if one or even two defensive starters get hurt, we’re in trouble. Yes, I believe in CBK, and yes, he’s done an AMAZING job with the new defensive staff, so I’m hopeful. Just being honest. Geaux Tigahs

If you’re disappointed in this class, you’re a fricking idiot and shouldn’t follow recruiting.

Two of our three five-star commits are flips from texasAM.

I like your competitiveness but damn.

Recalibrate your expectations moving forward. If this class is disapointing to you, you're probably out of touch.

That's probably about the nicest way to say it.

so you were expecting a flip lets start there

First signing day was before Saban retired and we fired our staff.

Name the elite defensive tackle that was available that you EXPECTED to flip

I'll name one. Dominick Mckinley

This is an awful post. You’re disappointed at the #4-7 class in the country? You complain about not getting big time defensive lineman, and yet I guarantee had we not flipped Dom you would have made a post bashing the LSU staff for losing a 5* in state defensive lineman. If I had to guess 95% of players in this class were already signed before today.

You do realize we were 50% on flips (since there was only 2 possible). Everyone else we wanted signed over a month ago!

I think you forget that the LSU Def staff was in limbo for a bit as well. Replacing your D-Coord in the offseason is onc thing when it comes to recruits, but they replaced an entire Def. staff.

Based on that, I'd say flipping 4 out of 5 players from one program is a pretty big positive.

Money is money. Also, the negative effects of these coaches changes will only occur if the next coach fails to have success in his first two years. Many of the kids committed to a school have been in for a couple of years. They have made friends with staff, current players, and fellow recruits. Not all of the players are just chasing the biggest moneybag.

The frick is wrong with you???

We had already flipped guys who signed earlier and McKinley made it official today.

Of you don’t like the job the staff did putting this class together, you will never do anything but bitch.

Recruiting isn't for some people. It might be too much for you to handle.

We sort of did... at least from A&M.

Jimbo leaving didn't move the needle too much, but when Coach Robinson left A&M for Syracuse, I think you can say we flipped Reliford (signed December) and McKinley (signed today). Hiring Bo Davis sealed the deal on these.

As far as Bama, because Saban waited till classes started before retiring, there wasn't much we could do to flip any of their DL prospects that signed in December. A quick look of bama's class on 247:

247

According to this, the majority that signed in December are already enrolled and can't be flipped. The only other DL I see that is signed and not enrolled is Steve Mboumoua. But he signed in December, so again, he's not really in a position to be a flip candidate today, And, again, he signed before Saban retired.

Were there any remaining major DL prospects that signed with Bama today that LSU had a legit shot to flip? If not, then who specifically are you upset didn't get flipped? If nobody, then there really isn't much cause to be disappointed... at least not based on what you're saying: that LSU missed a chance to flip a bunch of A&M and Bama DL due to staff turnover.

Honestly, I'm not attempting to downvote/flame you. Your post just doesn't seem accurate.

DT is thin, but since most of the big names sign in December now, there was very little chance for the new defensive staff to make an impression on anybody this year. They did, at least, make a positive impression that kept McKinley in place to sign today. So, there's that.

Short sighted thinkers make up the majority of the population. If LSU would have signed the same exact class but with more signees waiting to sign until today, you'd be happy. Zoom out.

The program is being built the right way with a long term vision and nothing about the current program status in whatever lens you want to look at it through should bring out negativity. You do you though.
