Why does it look like there’s a step back in the fence and is that log around the pipe?

Was thinking the same. What’s up with the two logs sitting there?

This gonna be good. Is OP going over there right now? This is quite shocking. If owner hasn't looked at his install and doesn't see the pipe going under the fence then he is a true retard.

That’s what I was trying to say. Pool contractors are idiots without a doubt, but you can’t take the responsibility for this away from the homeowner. There’s no way they can’t know.

Also OP, if those are Sago Palms they are highly toxic to dogs. If you have a dog you should remove them and they are a pita.

Yes, yes you can, and yes, it's actually likely he doesn't know. Your take here is bizarre.

Ignorance is not a defense. He employed the contractor. It's the homeowners responsibility to make it right. Your take on this is bizarre.

Been there done that! Bought a empty lot with a neighbor who has a pool. I noticed a white pipe showing one day while walking around. Come to find out the back wash piping was installed under the owners existing fence and ran underground on the empty lot I purchased towards the street. Informed new neighbor that wasn’t going to work he graciously cut the pipe and had an open ended pipe shooting water under the fence on to my lot at this point. When I came time to bring in dirt and level off yard I built a chainwall and put up a fence. Needs less to say when I dug my hole for fence lost I was pissed because I would hit the pvc pipe every couple of holes. The crowning moment was when the chainwall was installed. It forced the water to stay on his property and now he runs a blue hose to the street every time he backwashes or drains.

Never said it was a defense.

Totally agree.

There's 110% chance the homeowner doesn't know. A lot of folks with pools have never seen their equipment, much less where a drain pipe was placed. They pay people to do that sh!t.

So is this pipe going under your fence into your property, or is the pipe going under the pool owners fence, and your fence is the one in the back and the water is going under your fence, perpendicular to the pipe?

Seems like everyone assumes this pipe is going under the OP's fence into his property, and I just can't imagine that is right.

I certainly can't 100% confirm, but OP had clarified earlier that this was in the middle of a subdivision and made it seem like there was no possibility for it to drain anywhere but into someone backyard essentially. Maybe I'm wrong though.

We're all waiting for the update.

Does the neighbor apologize for the idiot contractor, crawfish and say he thought it was ok, or insult the neighbor and say that a weekly flood would be better than looking at his shitty yard.

How long do we have to wait?

Is there any pressure going to that pipe? If so, I would put and 90 elbow up, reduce it to 1/2 inch and use a 22.5 elbow just below the top of the fence pointed back into his yard.

Of course, I would only do this after talking to him to try to resolve it like and adult . . .

Yes. Its his dishcarge line, I don't know how far away from the pump it is, but that is connected to his pool pump I'm assuming? So there should be pretty good pressure.

As you said, OP could reduce it and make it spray back into his neighbors yard fairly easily. That would definitely be the best solution and see what the neighbor has to say. Go from there.

Reduce it down to 1" and pipe in two or three sprinkler heads in your yard...... Never mind I'm thinking San Antonio.
