Squatting on a smith machine only made my back problems worse. Now that I'm back to squatting on a barbell, my back problems aren't nearly as bad.

Oh yikes. Why is that?

I'm not sure. Maybe it has something to do with lack of flexibility or something. I've been told specifically that my hip flexors are very tight.

I go to 2 different gyms. One of them has a smith that goes up and down at an exact 90 degree angle. That machine is uncomfortable and I don't use it, the motion doesn't feel natural. The smith at the other gym goes at an angle, and squatting on there feels fine. I know I'm not activating any of my core or stabilizer muscles when I'm on the smith, but it's better than nothing. I'm able to go slow, deep, and pause at the bottom. I'm essentially doing a hack squat.

It's odd because my deadlift is fine, both on a regular barbell and hex bar. I'm also able to do good mornings with a barbell. For some weird reason my barbell squat just sucks and I've given up long ago.

You might look funny but do the agile 8 warmup. Don't worry about your hip flexors. They'll be fine. Learn to tighten up your upper back when squatting and keep that tight the whole way down. Try squatting with different stances. Toes out a smidge to get depth. Knees over toes.

So my confession would be I prefer to squat on my Rogers squat pro than barbell just because it's more comfortable. I still do both weekly, but I have a gigantic VAG and prefer the machine. I just push through the barbell squats though even though they aren't fun as hell like they used to be.

I walked out of the gym one time because a hot girl when straining to bench press made "frick noises". I could not take it. I was either chuckling or had wood. Gym shorts and an erection are not appropriate in a gym setting.

In envious of the wrist flexibility Olympic lifters have

If I had that it would make my front squats and cleans more efficient

Gotta let it cool off a little bit, but you want it to be hard enough to show off through the shorts.

Like going over to the bench beside her and have that nice arch to get more peak.

She ended up loving the BBC I believe. And also judging by the thighs i recall I bet her hotness window was brief.

I use straps on deadlifts when I go over 4 plates

And I primarily squat using a safety squat bar due to shoulder issues

That may actually be a brag. The safety bar will humble most lifters, as the fight to not "taco" over is extreme at even modest weights.

What you did there, I see it.

Since my gym forbids chalk, I do too though but I don't use straps till I go over 5 wheels because dropping that shite makes a frick ton of noise.

I love chalk. I didn't even care if my old gym allowed it, I just snuck it in.

You could use liquid chalk.

We've all been there. There's a couple of girls at my gym that make some noise when working out. Sounded like a female tennis match was going on.

The trainers are like Nazi's at my gym. One guy ratted me out for using it. We had a few words and I really wanted to beat the dude's arse but I wasn't going to let a little thing like not being allowed to use chalk cost me a gym membership at a club that I actually like outside of one silly rule. I just use straps now. It's not like I am prepping for a meet anyway.

If I do the elliptical early in the morning, the movement gives me morning wood, and I have to either discretely tuck the big guy into my waistband or find a way to sprint to the locker room without knocking someone down with my member. Only happens in the morning.

Hahahaha I have that problem on the recumbent bike. My time on that is dictated by when I don't have an erection anymore.

My gym doesn't allow chalk if you're messy with it. The thing is, even if you are careful, they still bitch. It's fricking chalk. Who cares?

They have a blackboard and there is stick chalk and I just take it and rub it on my callouses.

The owner of the snap.fitness I go to got busted having an affair with a married woman who was in the crossfit class at his gym. His wife divorced him and married the husband of the other woman. There were lots of kids involved.
