45's have been at the bottom since gyms were first constructed.
yeah, but people are supposed to rack them with the numbers and lip of the edge facing out. You can grab them one handed easy peasy that way. If they put them on backwards so there is no lip to grab sometimes you have to bend down and two hand grab them, especially if you have the tilted racks for the weights.

I got you. You belong to a gym that still has the old steel wheels and hasn't moved into the 21st century and got the fancy plastic covered ones with hand handles.

I will never join a gym with these weights.

My bad chief. That's been my experience in college weight rooms and gyms I have been to. I guess these places have replaced 35's with more 45's to take up less space.
I do see the yellow 15kg bumper plates in power rooms though

We have some 2.5s at mine as well. And 100s that are between the squat rack and leg press machine. Dumbbells go up to 110. Also have some shorter barbell that I looked up that is 35 lbs instead of 45. No idea why, and there's only one of them. It is off in this random squat rack.

2.5s are essential. I'm going to get some 1.25s as well.

My HS weight room had some weird 5.5 lb plates. I think they were in kg, and also had lbs on them. The only reason I remember is because one of the CB's was doing his max on bench and used those instead of the 5s so he could say 1 more pound. Corrected the coach in front of the whole team that he got 246, not 245.

Ditto for my club but our db's go up to 150. One of the main reasons I belong to the place since I don't barbell bench much anymore. Well, that and they have the plastic 45's with handles. I can still get up to the 130's on flat bench. The 150's are nice to get up to for shrugs. We also got 100 lb plates with the handles too and like you said, they stay by the leg press so you don't have to load that biatch up with 45's. Those 100's are also great for doing farmers walks. Grab one in each hand and walk till you are about ready to puke. Good stuff.

You feel weak. You have to give yourself time to adjust to your new fighting weight

When I cut calories I find it much harder to make strength gains week to week. Over time the weight of my working sets go down too.

See I cut my volume down drastically when on a severe cut and focus on reverse pyramid training. I tend to still be able to make progress but it's slow and I usually only make it on the first and at max second set so only two sets for me. Full body twice weekly
