use a pad on squats

I think I would have let that one slide. My old lifting coach in school used to say that pads are made for females on the rag but if it helps you get in the rack, more power to you. Just don't be one of those jake-legs that only bends their knees and doesn't go to parallel.

Ive gotten better at this part. Checked ego, dropped weight and put a box under my arse to get me lower.

Careful on using the box. I see way too many people that will damn near sit down like they are at the kitchen table doing box squats. I am no back specialist but that can't be good for the spine. If you are using the box to gauge depth, I would just get in the habit of getting the proper feel for where parallel is by doing zero weight squats checking your depth in the mirror until you get good at moving that form into the rack or maybe set the pins in the rack to about where parallel for you would be and then squat to that depth.

In high school the coach would put bungee cords on the squat racks. Didn't count as a rep if you didn't hit the bungee

I have never thought about that but it is a damn good idea. That way you are not impeding your natural movement by stopping on a box or stopping on pins.

My high school coach did something similar. It wasn't bungee cords, but a piece of rope. It sat a few inches above a metal bar that would catch the weight if you had to drop it.

What's your technique? Straight up creeper or bouncing off the mirror?

I feel like the mirror is even creepier.

I just own it and stare.

I essentially did that and combined it with shrugs. Deadlift up and then a set of shrugs.

I've never stuck to a program longer than a month. I'm going to do better this year, promise.

So is it muscle confusion or mental confusion?

I'm the same way. It's very tough to stick to a program for a long time.

That's why crossfit style workouts are great. You can just wing it with whatever combo and get a killer workout.

I get bored and change my mind on what style I want a lot. Sometimes I just wanna be strong as hell and other times I just wanna be big as hell. Another issue is sometimes I wanna be cut so I decrease calories then I get weaker so I feel bad cause I'm weak then reverse all I did and eat and get strong then fell bad I'm chunky. Never ends. Just need to ride it out.

My biggest pet peeve is when people don't rerack their weights in the spots that they are supposed to go. Unsurprisingly, I remain pissed off when I work out at the LSU rec because people just put shite everywhere there.

I hate when they are reracked backwards so you can't grab them conveniently. It'd be one thing if 45s were at the top or mid level so i can grab them easily even if they are backwards, but no, they are at the bottom so now i have to two hand grab them.
