For you If folks, does eating breakfast make you starving throughout the day?

Chick fil a was brought into the office this morning so I had three minis and a small amount of fruit and around 11 I was super hungry. I find this is always the case when I eat breakfast, and I had a normal lunch today and still feel like I could smash more food.

I'm on to something here or am I just being soft?

It could be the unnatural amount t of carbs and simple sugars you ingested...

I had 35g or so of carbs and 8g or so of sugar, so I doubt it.

Don't you have piss to drink or babies to starve?

Not starved, nor do I experience any “hunger pangs”, but I do get noticeably less resistant to cravings until I start my next fasting period. Like, if I fast the full day, then my meal to break the fast is typically a more healthy choice and more satiating than if I break my fast in the morning, in which case I’m more likely to eat junk foods and feel less satiated.

I've been doing a 20:4 IF for about three months now and it's been wonderful. I was always one to eat some breakfast within 15 minutes of being awake. Once I got past the point of experiencing those early morning hunger pains it has been smooth sailing.

Same, typically I eat lunch just to step away from work for a few minutes, I never really feel hungry. When I have breakfast however, I feel hungry throughout the day.

I guess I should have made it more clear, I very rarely eat breakfast.

Yea I am never really hungry until post workout. But not being hungry for me still allows me to put down 12-16 oz of meat pretty easily.

I knew you were a closet fatty...

Depends on the food eaten at breakfast. Eggs and bacon? I probably don't want lunch. Old style carby crap - I'm hungry again by 10am.

I definitely do better when I wait until at least 11am to eat. But I don't get really hungry regardless, unless I work out pretty hard, especially swim, and even then I'm seldom hungry until much later.

My first meal is super fatty with almost no carbs. Avocado is only carb source usually, and I soak that in olive oil. A little almond flour sometimes, in pancakes or sausage balls. Occasionally fage 5% w berries, macadamia and pecans. But even that doesn't cause later hunger.

Coffee and my mct/coconut shot help.

If I ate 35g of carbs without fat loading I probably would get hungry throughout the day.

I'm the same way.

I only eat breakfast on the weekend, and it is usually just eggs and bacon, and I'm normally hungrier at lunch than I am on the weekdays when I don't eat anything for breakfast.

It's weird.

I've always been hungry in the morning. Fasting, keto, high carb, etc.... always hungry when I wake up.

Eating breakfast actually seems to help me keep my hunger at bay throughout the day.

I have a hard time fasting/skipping meals because of my acid reflux though. So my motivation is eating a little something so that my "empty stomach" doesn't cause me a flare up.

If I eat breakfast, I could sometimes skip lunch. Breakfast always makes me feel full.

Depends what I eat

I usually fast and don’t eat until noon

But if I do eat breakfast it’s small maybe a banana or two at 8am and I’m hungry again by 10am.

If I eat like three pancakes after morning PT, nah I’m set until about 1pm

Bingo! I do a 16fast/8eat cycle, starting at noon and ending at 8pm. But the key for me is to stay off the carbs as long as I can. I do a very fibrous salad at noon, a small pack of nuts at 1:30, and an apple at 2:30. I don’t really eat many carbs at dinner (6pm) either, but then do a sweet potato and maybe a banana sandwich or smoothie around 8, right before I go to bed. So I get my carbs and replenish my glycogen stores, but I wait until right before I go to bed so that I don’t crave them all day. I know they say don’t eat carbs before you go to bed, but this format works best for me and I stay very lean, but still have glycogen stores in my body to allow me to do my triathlon training.

You ate processed crap that only makes you hungrier. I don't know how people even like that place.
