You’re not wrong. I don’t blame any of the players but like usual, it’s the fans that lose because of it. I’d love to see cam smith, brooks, Bryson etc still competing with the other top dogs in the PGA tour.

LIV golfers are traitors to what golf is supposed to be.

The PGA tour was greedy and left players no choice

You act like PGA Tour pros were living this miserable life.

No one was complaining about the PGA Tour life until LIV came along and then all of a sudden some players that left changed their tune. But there’s also genuine players like Harold Varner, DJ, etc. who knew they had a great life and wanted a different experience. That’s ok!

all of the sudden found lots of money to increase purses and now help with travel expenses and aren’t penalizing as much for not playing.

What ways were players being penalized for not playing? I know purses were gradually increasing over the next few years anyways, but yes, the Tour did dip into their reserves to keep more players from leaving.

They can all cuss the LIV players

What players are doing this? Players have expressed their frustration about being sued, and wanting to come and go as you please on the Tour.

I completely get why some people left for LIV. Good on those that have seen benefit. I think it stinks for golf fans, but I’m also a golf nut and realize I’m not as casual of a watcher as most are.

I may not be a golf nut, but I know what takes to get where true pros want to be. In golf you keep working and working just to make the tour. And if you don’t make the cut, you make zero money… as far as
The players
That left. Good By…. I am old school though. However, what’s happens when LIV ends up not being around???? Does the PGA welcome the players back with open arms???

And sports media, which has largely ignored it out of some sense of moral high ground and loyalty to the PGA tour.

Brooks always plays well in majors, no shocker. I like him but you can keep most of the blowhards on the LIV tour. Saw Poulter was all over twitter shouting about LIV winning the PGA, has to ride somebody else's coat tails since he is pretty irrelevant.

This is just incorrect, lots of people were complaining and still are. It is well documented how much it sucks to be a fringe top pga tour player and especially caddie. Yes the top 15 players are doing fine, that is part of the argument.

LIV has absolutely been a positive for the greater population of pro golfers.

It's also crazy to say Brooks winning doesn't help LIV. Is LIV going to suddenly pull millions of viewers? No but this is a step in the right direction for them.

82 pga wins, 15 majors. Imagine if had actually tried in non-major events.

Well for one thing this isn’t bad for LIV. It would mean more if an elite level tour player wasn’t the one who won. This whole thing is nauseating and mainly cause of redundant threads and talk like this. Not everyone called these guys washed. The truth is Bryson and Brooks were both fighting serious injuries, they were flat out bad golfers last year. Brooks would even tell you this. And he spoke on it. The PGA would and should be more nervous if LIV actually had a good product. Their format is comical and unwatchable. And that is backed by actual facts and their tv ratings. If i has to predict what will happen in the future is guys like brooks and Bryson return to the tour once their contracts expire. Brooks already wants back. Regardless what’s best for golf is this pro liv pro tour guys to shut up and go away and let people watch golf in peace.

LIV is two years old. Give it time and we’ll revisit

Brooks won his other 4 Majors while being on the PGA Tour. LIV doesn't have any of it's own original players. Poached players are all it has. The only thing LIV did for Brooks is give him a ton of money so he could recoup his body without the pressure of having to play week in and week out to earn an income.

The PGA of America & The PGA tour use to be the same organization. The definitely are just coincidentally named the same thing lol.

They are different entities, but to suggest they have "nothing to do" with each other is like saying the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry has nothing to do with each other.

Of course it does. It greatly increases the odds of them getting OWGR points. It reminded the golf world that any ranking system that doesn’t have several of the LIV players on it is not legitimate.
