Of course it does. It greatly increases the odds of them getting OWGR points. It reminded the golf world that any ranking system that doesn’t have several of the LIV players on it is not legitimate.
LIV already has the reigning British Open champion. I don’t know what also having the pga champ does. They were already a tour with a current major winner.

Well, after this win, even you were saying there needs to be some way to include these guys in the OWGR.

I have always said it’s clear their top guys are still clearly amongst the best golfers. But there still is not any realistic way to get them ranking points to any time soon. Even without any controversy, or negative press, it would have been impossible to get them ranking points quickly with their 78 player guaranteed format

People aren’t realistic at all thinking this could happen quickly. Imagine in any sport having players or teams branch off starting a new league and demanding immediate inclusion in rankings/playoffs. It’s somewhat absurd

Imagine this

Florida
Georgia
Lsu
A&M
Oklahoma
Texas
And 20 mid majors and 10 D3 teams decide to start their own league where they play 3 quarters. And imagine they announce it today. And then imagine they demand to be included in the rankings and this years playoffs. It’s crazy. It is realistic and rational to imagine it will take at minimum a few years to figure out how to rank a new league. Even though we would all clearly know those top teams are stil amongst the best, including them right away is asinine really

. It is well documented how much it sucks to be a fringe top pga tour player and especially caddie.

Who is doing this? If it sucks, they can go find a different job.

Yes the top 15 players are doing fine, that is part of the argument.

99 players on the PGA Tour have made $1 million so far this year. What are you talking about? The players who are struggling a little bit are not the ones getting invited to LIV.

No one was saying anything about the PGA Tour until LIV came around with these enormous contracts.

Yeah thats why it gets preempted by America's Funniest Animals and Gilmore Girl reruns.

And PGA Tour gets followed by 60 Minutes. Equally worthless content

Content aside... Followed by =\= preempted
