The PS4's hard drive is replaceable so there is no need for an external.
Going to either throw a 1TB/2TB or a 500GB SSD in my PS4.

Have they said if it's going to be proprietary or not?
FYI you will see zero performance gain from an SSD in a console. Especially one that already has 8GB of GDDR5 ram. You would be dumb to do it and pissing money away really.
The dumb part is no surprise here though.

Absolutely, why not? Money is no issue for me and I want to do it?
Will buy a lot of my games in the digital version, so even if it's just minimal help, it'll still be welcomed and nice.
And I can say my PS4 has an SSD, isn't the E-Peen a big thing for PC people?
