Have they said if it's going to be proprietary or not?

No, but you could use any 2.5" HDD without restrictions on PS3. Most are operating under the assumption that it isn't changed.

if it has usb ports i don't see why i couldn't able to plug my TB hd in.

FYI you will see zero performance gain from an SSD in a console. Especially one that already has 8GB of GDDR5 ram. You would be dumb to do it and pissing money away really.

The dumb part is no surprise here though.

yea i had to take a double take on did he really just say SSD for a gaming console

who should i put money down on in Vegas to win the Superbowl next year?

With his statement, I would say he would pick the Jaguars or Chiefs and be 100% sure about it.

Money is an issue for everyone unless you are Bill Gates or live off of Government checks.

I know richer people than you ever will and money is an "issue" for them.

The only people that say money is no issue live paycheck to paycheck with maxed out credit.

isn't the E-Peen a big thing for PC people?

Only when it actually makes a difference. Again, this will do zero for a console and especially the PS4 with the ram it has.

This polls only getting worse as time goes on.
Still excited about my XB1.

Oh, and I just tried hooking up that WiiU I mentioned in another Xbox/ps thread yesterday and the fricker doesn't work. It's powers up but isn't outputting anything to my tv screen. POS.

Still buying one.

And yes, it will make a slight difference here and there.

Nintendo has excellent customer service. Considering the newness of the console, I'm sure that they'll be able to help if you give them a call.

360 has always had USB ports and just allowed external memory that wasn't proprietary a few years back. It was and 8GB limit first then 16GB and now 32GB.

The point is USB hubs doesn't mean they can't block it.

Would be nice if neither console does though.

Here you go UltimateHog. It's one of the very rare cases of it helping, but those cases do exist. LINK

Yeah, but is it worth the hassle? My dad won it through a work function and I'm not even sure there was/still is a receipt.

I would assume this is due to the relatively limited amount of RAM on the PS3.

Like stout said..not the case with the PS4.

I know, that's why I said it will help some here and there.

A 480GB SSD is about $330 on NewEgg, grab one during black friday for $300ish and I'm more than happy.

E-Peen!
