Nice - agree except for Doris, simply because I don't eat red meat. Would substitute The Franklin.

Our personal top 6 includes:
Atchafalaya
Boucherie
Brigstens
Commanders
Coquette
La Petite Grocery

If going casual:
Cochon Butcher
Guy's Poboys
Kin
Mandinas
Red Dog Diner
Turkey and the Wolf

We don't make it Bywater/Marigny as often to have opinions on well reviewed places there.

Not much love for Upperline on here...

Upperline

Vincent's
Antoine's
Commanders.

I need to try Clancy's and LPG. Forgot about Commanders at first but I really love the garlic knots at pizza domenica haha.

Sorry for the hijack...but I keep seeing Blue Oak on this list which shocks the heck out of me.

Went with the kids and in-laws about a year or so ago, and absolutely no one liked it. It wasn't bad - it just wasn't good. 0 for 4 on the adults even caring to try it again. Too many other good options out there.

Haven't been back - but keep hearing good things (like this thread). I guess we could have had an off day and I may need to sneak by there myself one day to try it again.

ETA - just to participate in the thread -

Antoines (sentimental reasons - and yes I feel the need to explain)
Commanders
Butcher
Upperline
Avo
Clancys

I like the 'rooster' wings at Blue Oak. I haven't found anything else there to be overly impressive.

My favorites:

Peche
Compere Lapin
Cochon Butcher
Vincent's
Parkway Tavern
Commander's Palace

I have never been to Shaya or Saba, but I'm pretty sure they will take Parkway's place once I get to try it.

I listed blue oak, and I can somewhat get what you are saying

But I love their wings, their brisket is the best in the city, and their brussels are fire

I think in a vacuum it would be overhyped, but in NOLA with lack of solid bbq it makes my list

Then you, in general, must not like BBQ.

Care to name them?

It's in Marigny near Mimi's. Nicer bar/restaurant. Everything I've ever had there has been outstanding but it's been a while.

6 seems like a pretty arbitrary number so I'll just list some that I liked and/or frequented. I haven't been there in years so if some of these places have gone downhill or even closed I don't know about it

Atchafalaya
Meauxbar
Commander's Palace
Mondo
The Munch Factory
Vincent's
Mayas
Cochon
