No BBQ restaurant in New Orleans is worthy of the Top 50 in the city, let alone the Top 6.
I agree completely.
Blue Oak wings are killer, probably in the Top 10 dishes in NOLA, but after that it is a sharp drop off. The chicken sandwich is really good.
When Chef Rob was on his game the bbq was incomparable. I understand it was unsustainable, but that was killer bbq all around.

Curious as to how August was trash.

And how the hell would you list Blue Oak as something small plant fusion cuisine
I was generalizing, but majority of their menu is overpriced a la carte BBQ. And I like blue oak enough.
can you imagine someone listing that as a top restaurant in New Orleans ?
Title was “your” top 6 and in my mind its the ones I visit the most often. if some you you baws are headed to August ever week more power to you.

Just wasn’t good at all.
We started with crawfish tart and pototato gnocchi. The PG was highlight of meal, but the tart was just flavorless.
For entrees we had the flounder and snapper dish. The flounder dish could not have been worse. They literally “blobbed” a white sauce on top of the fish to the point where I couldnt see the filet much less taste it. Was just aesthetically awful and the sauce sucked. I didn’t finish it. The oysters in the snapper dish (which were blackened) were burned and that taste came off in the sauce. Both were bad.
Atmosphere was good and the wine list was great. I spent $400 with desert, drinks and tip, but it was just all around bad. There are better places to eat at that price point, and below frankly.
