I haven’t been to George’s Highland in years but the overpass and Jones Creek were/are absolute dumps. Dust piled in layers on all the décor. Dingy and dark and grimy. Uncomfortable round tables that are too small to fit more than 2 people.

Brewbacchers is far superior to George’s in poboys, burgers, fries, menu, food, cleanliness, comfort, service.

The dinginess of George's is what I love about it It is dark, but has never felt dirty to me. Speaking on Highland.

I haven't been to Brewbacher's since it was on Nicholson, but the one on Bluebonnet always looks like it has hoards of children sports teams which I tend to avoid. Granted, George's sometimes gets that too.

Tony and Yen run a pretty tight ship at Southside. Sure it’s a little dingy but that’s George’s.

You do you I guess. I’d take George’s over Brewbachers 10/10 times

Sammys in Zachary always had nice college waitresses during the summer. Once summer ended, not so much.

I know I'm in the minority but I never cared for Sammy's, ever. Always felt it was one of the more overrated places in town.

Everything was always so damned salty.

I could not understand why anyone would wait out side for 30min-hour for table.
proximity to neighborhoods. Plenty of people with kids dont want to travel too far. Brand recognition and the neighborhood are probably the main reason. Same thing for Superior.

Back in the day it had hot waitresses, good food , reasonable drink prices. All of that is gone. I think it’s time to sell and rebrand. Maybe put a Willies right there.

I went for the first time in years a couple months ago… there wasn’t any one thing that was horrible, but it definitely wasn’t the same

The appeal of George's

I can get in and out quickly. For a burger and fries its excellent price and taste. Grew up going to Sammy's before it became so popular and I haven't been but maybe once in the last 10 yrs b/c i am not waiting in line for 30-45 min. We loved it before it ever expanded and after first expansion. frick the parking also

George’s has one of the more reliable Poboy options in BR.

They get Leidenheimer bread twice a week. Don’t think anyone else does that in BR.

My wife and I ate there today. She had a giant salad with steak on it/pepper jelly vinaigrette; I had fried catfish with white beans and rice. It was all very, very good.
