The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin

I've heard good things about Elephant gin but haven't personally tried it

Agree. I would also recommend Monkey 47 as a gift. Plymouth is another great one for martinis

I don’t get the love for Botanist personally. The botanicals are turned way down for my taste

I've actually never had Monkey 47, but know several people who like it.
If you are giving a bottle as a gift, especially to someone that will display the bottle, I'd give Lighthouse or No. 3.

not 100% sure, but likely for martinis. or gin and tonics.
MArin Miller for a Martini or straight

For a tonic I think it is better to go with a botanical. I just tried a gin recently that paired really really well with Tonic. It was called Uncle Val's Botanical Gin

My second favorite gin. Another Saar dry gin.

They’ll enjoy it.

If anyone else is looking, another recommendation would be the St. George line of gins. The Terroir and Botanivore are both excellent.

St George, Botanist and Hendricks have been my go tos, but I did do some Monkey last year - a bit pricey for my poolside Yeti drinks though.

Going to audition some Drumbshanbo this weekend as I can't recall having it and I know it's a lot of gin dudes' every day gin

No nonsense real gin - Beefeaters. And good price at Wine.com for 1.75 ml

Too many boutique guns out there that suk. A good alternative to Beefeaters is Bombay.

Good one.

Chicken, without knowing what the giftee likes in a gin, Monkey 47 seems like a safe choice. If your friend does not like cucumber, Hendrick's is a bad choice. If the botanicals are not his/her thing, Nolet's is a bad choice.
