Haven’t been since the 2011 FQ Fest. Place is stuck in the past. Lives on its history, not its overpriced food.

Read the article. Not a shock that the Motwani’s are behind this. Those folks are a cancer on the FQ.

I think the bar up front is beautiful.

I’m surprised that they are still in business.

How does the second oldest restaurant in the FQ not own the building it’s in?

Yea its a good place to pop in for a drink.

Greed and family issues. One brother owned the restaurant and the other owned the building. When the one with the restaurant died, there was a huge fight over control. The brother who owned the building got pissed and sold it and refused to sell it to other family members.

Did you see where he said he owned enough t-shirt shops on Decatur?
What a turd... how nice of him to realize he doesn't need another one.

Motwani's are the worst thing to ever happen to the FQ.
Just world class pieces of shite.

Sometimes we get mad about zoning and historic regulations, and even as a strong supporter of land use regulations, sometimes they can be draconian.
That said.....this is the reason why strong zoning laws, historic rules and land use laws are important...the City at leas has some protections against predatory property owners. If they had their way the quarter would be nothing but Willie's Chicken, tourist drinks, and t-shirt shops on every corner.

Or simply let the Italian mafia comeback and put the quarter back like it used to be, somewhat civilized versus now.
