Timeout names top 19 pizzerias in the world

Friends,
Each Spring, publications begin their annual best pizzas lists. Some are legitimate. Others are filled with head scratchers meant to create controversy. This year’s Timeout list is so ridiculous that I do not think it will even get that. On the bright side for Timeout, they will get some traffic from Europe, as a few no name pizzerias that made this list retweet the list. Timeout’s top 19 pizzas in the world .
1. Pizzeria da Attilio in Naples, Italy
2. Scarr's Pizza in New York City, U.S.A.
3. Pizza Marumo in Tokyo, Japan
4. 180g Pizzeria Romana in Rome, Italy
5. Bella Brutta in Sydney, Australia
6. Diamond Slice in Copenhagen, Denmark
7. Dough Hands in London, U.K.
8. Novo in Cape Town, South Africa
9. Oobatz in Paris, France
10. Baldoria in Madrid, Spain
11. Milly Pizza in the Pan in Chicago, U.S.A.
12. Officina Local in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
13. Civerinos in Edinburgh, U.K.
14. Eleventh Street Pizza in Miami, U.S.A.
15. Lupita in Lisbon, Portugal
16. Fiata by Salvatore Fiata in Hong Kong
17. Güerrin in Buenos Aires, Argentina
18. nNea in Amsterdam, Netherlands
19. Mercado 20 de Noviembre in Oaxaca, Mexico
Only three months to go before the 2025 version of TulaneLSU’s top 100 pizzas in America.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

I immediately consider suspect any list that looks this "random" when it comes to geography. Only two from Italy, only one of which is from Naples? fricking stop it

Friend,
The list is highly questionable. NJ-NY-CT is the pizza capital of the world with a pizza culture that puts everyone else’s to shame. People live and dream pizza there. Not even Naples can compare. A world list that does not have at least a 40% representation from the NY Tristate region is either trolling or uninformed or both.
Naming European pizzerias as 10 of the top 19 top pizzerias is outrageous. There is better pizza in two square blocks of NYC than in the whole of the UK combined. It does not matter the style either. NY has superior Neapolitan pizza than even Naples.
And then dropping Scarr’s at number two in the world is just old fashioned trolling. Scarr’s is very good, but it’s not close to the best pizza in the Lower East Side.

TulaneLSU

The only one on that list that I've been to is Eleventh Street in Miami. It was good, but there are others in Miami that I think are better.

Best I can tell he’s fat, and likes to eat.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

My dad worked at the original across from NLU in the early 70’s. Every time I make the pilgrimage back I hit the new one up on 18th or grab a take-n-bake from the one in rayville.

No pizza on Planet Earth has a better crust than Totino's.

I’ve been contemplating going to Marumo when I’m in Tokyo later this year or Monk when I’m in Kyoto. This might seal it.

Hitting Milly’s in July!
I almost never eat pan or deep dish, but Milly's is my exception. So damn good. He started out at a ghost kitchen near my place (Logan Square) during COVID. Was only able to make 20 during each business day, so was incredibly difficult to get. Now has two physical locations. Super nice dude, too, so I'm glad he's doing well.
