One of the best kept secrets in SELA is best bakery in houma. I truly believe they've mastered poboy bread. It's got a nice crust but not hard like a rock like new Orleans style.

I agree, by the time I get done taking a bite of the "hard bread", half of my po boy has fallen out of the bread

I also agree. I lik soft bread that makes a mold around the shrimp when I press it together. Easier to eat and honestly just tastes better.

This really isn't true if the bread is fresh.
I prefer the authentic New Orleans-style po-boy bread, but nothing wrong with using good, softer French bread. Freshness is key in both instances.
And there are bunch of places in BR that use the authentic bread, some of which I know get it delivered daily.

This is such bullshite. Plenty of places have the good bread. After that, a po boy is about as simple as it gets.

I've heard bad reviews on Phil's, and their Poboys, heard the portions are ridiculously small(even by BR standards)..
Tommy's Fish House is one of the few BR places to do Nawlins portion. And quite a few BR places get fresh Nawlins Poboy bread daily(Leidenheimer, Reising). I know T-Roc and Bert at Rocco's, Pokey at Pocorella's, Will at CCC,etc..do.

That looks like a poboy at 90% of downtown restaurants. Nawlins has some good poboys but they've got a ton of bad ones as well. Yes, tourist traps I know.
