and they do a fantastic job. The chicken is perfect and I've never even had to wait. Usually a line for the drive thru but it moves smoothly. Anyone else have a good one they go to?

When I visit relatives in Jena LA I always go to their Popeyes. Its amazing how much better an experience it is than the ones in Baton Rouge.

The ones around me have gotten progressively worse.

Went to one recently to try and grab the nuggets - placed an online order for pickup and when I got there, you couldn't even go inside to pick it up. You had to still wait in the drive thru. Then after waiting in line for about 45 minutes, when I got to the speaker they told me their "whole system was down". When I mentioned I already made an order and paid they told me to pull up and talk to the manager. Why not have an employee go out and tell cars in the line that you aren't taking orders? People were waiting in that line for an hour and the traffic was into the road.

Absolute cluster. It'll be a while before I go to Popeyes again. And that's a shame, they mop the floor against Chick Fil A.

The nuggets were mediocre. Don't recommend. They're just the tenders, but in smaller pieces and only in mild. If you can't order chicken spicy from Popeyes what's the point.

There isn't one very close to me.

Most fast food places out here run very well, though.

Yeah, the one by me in Houston is quick too. I can't figure out the difference between the Houston ones and Louisiana ones. For some reason this one is just quicker, cleaner, and better service but I can't put my finger on why.

Mine. Same dynamic as yours. They are fantastic! Never been asked to "pull around".

Popeyes by my house is randomly
Open like once a week.. and then it’s closed all the other days.

It’s so weird, you have no idea when they will be open, but you can tell when they are bc the line is out into the road.

All of them I've been to in the Bay area are good. They don't sing to me like the lady in Kenner though.

There was a guy that used to run the drive through at the one in Port Allen that kept things moving pretty well. He ended up getting promoted, and the person they replaced him couldn't run it like he did so the service went down. That's been a while, not sure how it is now.

eta: I've stopped at a quite few fast food places in Texas run by Mexicans, they've always been well run every time I stopped in one.

had one like that on williams in kenner

guy from mexico bought it, hired mostly mexicans to work there, and they had big pieces of chicken, fast and friendly service at all times, parking lot was always clean and well cared for, the inside was always so clean you could eat off the floor.

he got divorced and had to sell it, within 6 months its not worth stopping there any more just like most other places

The Hispanic fast food run restaurants in Texas give great fast service...
Unfortunately I live in baton rouge and we don't have this option...fast food service is HORRIBLE...

Fast food service in BR may be the most hostile in the South. It’s absurdly shitty.

Yea but they don’t hook it up with extra chicken like the native new orleanian popeye employees do

Quantity > quality

Part of the nostalgia of Popeyes is the terrible experience getting your chicken. Popeyes, don’t change, you’re doing great!

Octavio (Latin gentleman) is the manager at 'my' Popeyes in Bella Terra. He does pretty good.

The one I go to here in town is awesome. The line, generally, moves quickly. The girl or guy at the window is always kind and respectful and they haven't messed up my order in a long time. I'm talking years.

If they do mess it up, they always offer something on the spot to correct it, like an extra biscuit or an extra leg or something.

This is at the one on Country Club here in town. The one on Prien is very close. The only drawback there is that the exit lane is so narrow so if someone is waiting for a big box or blackened tenders or something that may take a few extra minutes to prepare, you hardly have any room to move around them when you're trying to exit but they're waiting for their order even though they've moved forward.

Both are great though, IMO.
