It’s like the cringy folks from BR SUX made up a satirical restaurant to lampoon BR’s yuppie hipster try-hards.

We went the other day. The crawfish bisques was not very good. The Hub Q appetizer was delicious. My wife and kids enjoyed their burger/cheesesteaks but thought the homemade buns were a bit small.
I found it to be a bit pricey for what we wanted.

We went yesterday around noon. They had their breakfast menu. The shrimp and grits were really good. Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve had. Wife had the traditional breakfast. The sausage was really good. Boudin was kind of bland. Kids got giant choc chip pancakes. They were very good.
We’ll go back.

How can they call their handhelds famous if they just opened?

A guy can dream, can’t he?

Yeah, these people own half the restaurants in town at this point. I like their places.

Lol Hightower is not a yuppie hipster try-hard. Far from it. I appreciate what he and his group do to invest in BR. While others were closing down and reducing hours during the pandemic, Stephen was buying/expanding. BR could use more people like him.
I am not his wife, mom or dad.
Edit - or him

The place has been open for like a day, to say it’s for hipsters is probably just a bit premature. The pic is of the staff not the clientele. I haven’t been yet, but give then the benefit of the doubt, because of his track record. Not related to Hightower.either, just a fan of his places.
Just like his other places menu looks unique and I like the fact they are trying something different BR.

leave it to the cynicism of this board to automatically deem something "hipster" or whatever boring, reductive keyboard attack they choose.
If you live in that town, you should be thankful people are trying something different .... and not with their play money. If you don't like then don't go. But shitting on someone's effort to do something is poor form, especially in gossipy, small BR.

Went to City Pork yesterday and got 5 shrimps with cheese grits for 24$. Could have at least put a side of toast with it. Their portion to price ratio has to be better than that.

As a millennial who lives on government street, I can spot folks trying to cater to a specific audience. I also know just how fickle that audience is. You see the same buzz words over and over again from these kinds of restaurants, and they constantly come and go. Why not poke a little fun? This is TD, we make fun of everyone and everything BR here.
Their restaurant has a dumb name and high-ish prices. I’ll try the food there at some point. The City Pork people have a great track record, but I’m still going to make jokes where jokes are due.

Some reviews state the price level doesn’t match the quantity served. I’d imagine rent isn’t cheap at that location.

Steven Hightower on the right and Jeff Conaway on the left, decidedly not hipsters. These two guys crank out a large portion of some of Baton Rouge's best food. Hope they do well here.

Menu is larger than the first two pictures I posted
After seeing boozy milkshake, we had to try one. This is the Nola Nectar and it was really fantastic but sooooo filling
Tried the Q fries app, first thing was this was massive. It is more than two people could eat. It is also very rich and flavorful. The melted pepper jack with shredded cheddar, gravy and brisket was a nice dump truck fries.
Smashburger no mayo and lettuce. Overall patty flavor was fine but my issue was the bun. They say it is homemade but too much bread compared to patty. Ended up removing the top bun and eating it like that.
Chicken salad on a choffle, was told it was really good but heavy on the mayo.
Overall everything tasted really good, great atmosphere with a patio area and a large menu. Wanted to try more but after the app I was seriously full. Will certainly be back to try a few more menu items.
Total was 70, milkshake, app, two meals, sweet tea, and a beer all on that. So price I feel they compare to other places such as Willies, Overpass, Chimes, etc....
