So many good Mellow Mushroom locations in the Southeast. Why did the BR location not last?

Is the quality of each franchise location that different from other locations?
I’ve had it several times in Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia. Each pizza was delicious, great wings and appetizers too. Lots of good beers on tap as well.

Back when I was in college I enjoyed the pizza during the waking hours. I enjoyed occasionally getting wrecked on their shroom tea in the night hours. I know it's been closed for a good while but it had been a long while before that since I last went.

The one in Lafayette failed too and it was great

Probably same reason the one in Lafayette closed…

That specific building/location in Lafayette has to be cursed. Nothing seems to survive there.

We went twice. The first time the pizza was not cooked all the way, the dough was still soft. Second time we ordered the Calzones, same thing, not cooked and dough was soft. We never returned after that. When they started offering boiled crawfish on a random weeknight special it was just a matter of time before the doors were shut.
I think the only thing that could make it there is if someone purchased Alesi's and moved it to that location (including the sign). Many hate on Alesi's but they have a loyal generation of customers.

I was on a business trip in Valdosta, GA many years ago and my distributor took me to the local Magic Mushroom for lunch and to meet management. It was a normal pizza place with families and college students eating pizza.
That night, they took me back to see the local nightlife. It had "magically" transformed into the raunchiest, filthiest college nightclub I had ever seen. College girls were using the chairs to give lap dances.
The sickening thought that we had a meal there only a few hours before ended my night quickly.
I just checked Google and it is shockingly still in business, although it looks like they have 86'd the nightclub aspect as it closes every night at 10pm.
Small college towns always seem to have the most absurd restaurant/bar scenes.

Noticeable clientele shift around 2011, especially on karaoke night.
Shroom tea pitchers were great though.
