Interacted with her many times all the while having no idea I knew her.

She was great poster on the F&D board and a wealth of knowledge. 69 is way too young, although I always thought she was a younger person from her personality.

Wow this hit hard for a person I have never met irl. Her entertaining tips and recipe recommendations were always great. I would have not suspected for a minute that she was an attorney! She will be missed here for sure.

I think I know what you mean.. She was very warm and personable and made you feel very comfortable talking with her when you shared an experience, sentiment, or knowledge about anything.
She seemed more like a counselor or therapist. She mentioned she was an attorney during the Mickey Shunick disappearance and the following Brandon Scott Lavergne murder case and trial that was a hot topic on the OT for while. She was a very smart lady.
My heart goes out to her family and friends, and everyone here on the F&D Board who'll miss her terribly.

So sorry to hear about her passing. Like many have mentioned, she was a staple. Praying for your family. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I always assumed she was a New Orleans resident, since she was so knowledgeable about the NOLA food scene. RIP.

My first post here was a request for a restaurant recipe, and she contacted the restaurant and got it for me.
I replied “Thanks, dude!” She replied, “I’m not a dude, but you’re welcome.”
She is going to be missed here.

Dearest Gris, I always thought we’d meet for lunch one day. Why didn’t we make that happen? I’m still in disbelief that this is real.
The loss is tremendous, and I know this board (and everyone in her orbit) is reeling. I haven’t been here in a while, but I had to pay my respects to Gris.
The F&DB has lost its True North. She was IT. She really was the guiding light here, the standard bearer, the North Star. She was the go to for everything, and deservedly so.
Behind the scenes, she became my friend, trusting me enough to be her FB friend, getting a glimpse into her busy life. We chatted often, sometimes gossiping about all of y’all! Haha! But she always stayed classy, so y’all don’t have to worry. Sometimes I’d message her and ask her to look at a post. Was I too mean? Too rude? (She NEVER was.) She got my sense of humor and sarcasm and egged me on. She was a wise advice giver and listener, and an encourager, too. But she was so much more. The most wonderful daughter imaginable to her ailing mother, always loving and concerned, problem solving her health care needs. In fact, I’m pretty sure she excelled in every single role she had.
Maybe I should take comfort in knowing she lived a full life, with lots of love in it, but selfishly, I wanted more. The whole world still needs Gris.
RIP, sweet friend.

Rest in peace old friend.
Our time here on earth is a temporal thing, with a beginning and an end, and only so many days given. James told us we are only a vapor and because of that we need to seek and hold onto those things of eternal importance. Even so, we have lost another good person, who mattered to many and was respected for what she was. We will miss you until we meet again.

I knew her and she was a true Tiger fan. I am told by my sister who went to her services that when she left the funeral home heading to the Cemetery
they played her out with the Tiger Fight Song!!
