Really depends on the burger for me. A diner style burger at a place that doesn’t care about showcasing good meat needs all the toppings.

A quality burger in a nicer place that is careful with the meat and seasons it well doesn’t need much else.

I thin Shredded iceberg is fine texturally.

Depends on how much you put in and if you put it above or below the hot patty.

No offense, but I stopped thinking this way when I was about 8 years old. I prefer leaf to shredded lettuce, and I prefer kosher dill slices, but neither is a deal breaker.

I love a variety of toppings for my burger. Avocado, fried egg, black olives, mushrooms, grilled or raw onions, I’ll try unconventional things, as well. The only thing that I avoid completely on my burger is mustard.

Tell me more about the Supper Club burger.....

I know this might sound crazy, but I can enjoy a burger with any combination of ingredients at given times. If you a cooking burgers for me and put onion, mustard, and pickle I’ll say thank you and enjoy it. If you put shredded lettuce, bacon and Mayo I’ll do the same. And I could go on.

What most people need to learn is WHERE to put the parts so the don’t spread all over and make a sloppy mess. I’m talking to you tomato man.

I agree that shredded lettuce doesn’t belong on a burger, although I won’t turn it down.
I’ve always used iceberg or Romain lettuce, and been told to always put it below the burger so it catches the juices from the burger and doesn’t make your bottom bun soggy.

I’m team “however you like it.”

I like mine with leaf lettuce below the burger to protect the bottom bun. I like cheese, pickles, mustard, and onions, no tomatoes, no mayo. Sometimes I’ll add bacon. Sometimes I’ll add crushed dried habanero, sometimes I’ll add fresh sliced habanero. I won’t complain if I order a burger and it comes with shredded lettuce.

There are so many variations. What kind of cheese? What kind of mustard? What kind of pickles? What kind of onion and should they be diced or in rings? So many options.

I don’t go for ketchup on my burger, but if you do then of course Heinz is the only option.

I'm happy with just about anything on a burger but the gloves come off over fried onion rings or onion strings. Rings are just ridiculous and so much better on the side. Strings are too difficult to bite through, just pull out in long strings.

And, the X marks the spot bacon positioning. A real head scratcher. Break the bacon into patty sized pieces and line them next to each other across the entire patty. I don't understand the giant X, also more difficult to consume than necessary. Bacon hanging all over the place with the tiny overlap double thick spot.
