It sounds like Provisions is a horribly ran place. I mean, if the damn manager is acknowledging that patrons have made it known that they are unhappy about being bait n switched right in front of him, regarding the HH pricing, and not doing anything about rectifying the issue then people are going to spend their money elsewhere.

Management will inevitably run that place into the ground.

Went to get a haircut on highland by the Walmart because it said 8 dollar haircuts for students. So I go in get the haircut which wasn’t done very well and go to pay she asks if I’m a student I say yes. She tells me it’s 15.50. I say what about the sign that’s why I came. She tells me that’s for high school and middle school. I was pissed.

I did run into a Happy Hour in Dallas where it was "$3 Domestics" for beer. I ordered a Shiner Bock and the guy said it wasn't on the Happy Hour.

Houston airport bar had a sign that domestic beer was $3 and imports were $4. I ordered a Samuel Adams. Bartender asked for $4. I explained that it was made in Boston and named after an American patriot. Their response: $4.

Domestic and import, in restaurant language, often really mean Miller/Bud/Coors (domestic) and everything else is considered import.

Sure it wasn't listed as Important Beer?

Everybody knows a 'domestic' refers to a cheap mass-produced beer like a Bud, Miller or Coors.

It has nothing to do with being poor. OP was simply asking the bartender about their pricing when he received the bill. When the bartender couldn’t intelligently handle the situation and ran to his manager, he was astonished that the manager was trying to justify their false advertising.

Especially considering the location and amount of customers that are college students

In all my experiences at happy hour, if I ordered a drink that wasn’t included, the bartender would always say something.

Agreed.

I’m not offended by it being limited to basic mixed drinks but it needs to be communicated at SOMEPOINT

I hate that customers are treated so badly nowadays.
We got Yankees here in FL that think their food is wonderful.
Fried cod with"catfish" (probably swahi) crumbles on top for $17. But I think you have at least a 99.99% backing. And Provisions should best learn from "their" mistake! Enjoy your new place for HH.
