Usually look for one made in Spain. Just tend to like their's better.

Like 1/2 of Italy's olive oil is from spain. Some import just the olives, but alot import oil, then package it in Italy so they can put "Product of Italy."

It used to be entirely from California requiring it to be pure olive oil. Now the bottle says it includes oil from other countries as well. As I understand it, there is a significant issue with non olive oil being labeled olive oil in other countries.

In Italy it will have D.O.P. on it if it's produced locally.

I wouldn't buy anything "italian" without some sort of certification, it's mostly fake if not.

This is the best I’ve had from a grocery store. Dorignacs used to have it but I haven’t seen it in a while.

It's $30 for a 500ml but we only use it as an fishing oil.

Seems like a waste of good olive oil but whatever gets them to bite, I guess.

I was gifted some Tuscan herb infused oil from Lake George OO Co. that I really enjoyed. I’ve since purchased more bottles to gift and it’s always well-received.

I’ve heard Goya has a really good olive oil as well. Anyone tried it?

Yes. I think it is the best. Great for dragging your French Bread through.

This is owned by an ex-uncle and his brothers. We are still on good terms. Really good stuff.

Send Annettee an email at Jimmy's Food Store, their selection can't be beat and they will ship you whatever. They usually have these two in stock, both great for cooking and better than anything sold at a regular store.

I would pick one of those and then get her to pick me out a nicer bottle for dipping. I prefer Greek and Sicilian and the two below were fantastic, but I haven't seen either in a while, so just see what she recommends.

I'm in Louisiana for a few days or I would swing by tomorrow, grab a Philly roast pork and take a picture of what they have. It's my neighborhood spot, they're great people, and the one food place no visitor to Dallas should miss.

I go straight to the business in Portland that imports practically everything shown in this thread but it's cheaper since I'm skipping the markup from a retail store.

I buy Terra Delyssa.

Single origin Tunisian, reasonably priced, available at Winn Dixie.

That’s my go to now.

Walmart has it also.

Flag from Sicily is what I buy in local stores when I am not getting the super premium stuff shipped to me from my source in Tuscany.

I'm a huge snob when it comes to Olive Oil, so I apologize, but the best I have ordered so far is Centonze. It has a great back-of-throat peppery finish.

They still do 100% Cali EVOO it is prominently labeled at the top of the bottle just like the ones that are "Global Blend". The 100% Cali is the best inexpensive cooking EVOO IMO.

The best inexpensive finishing EVOO (IMO) is Cobram Estate SELECT Extra Virgin Olive Oil also a 100% California oil. The select version is important because their cheaper ones are more of a cooking oil. They also have an Australian select version that is more bitter and more peppery. The California one can be found at Target, it is about $20 for a 750ml so very well priced for what it is. I am sure other places carry it but that is where we have always bought ours. We do find it goes OOS a lot so we try to keep and extra bottle.

I moved to Seville, Spain about 2 years ago Its in the Andulusia province, and olives/olive oil is the main driver of the economy. If you can find it in the US, look for Rincon de la Subbetica. It is widely considered to be the best olive oil in Andulusia and all of Spain. Its used not so much to cook with, but as a topping for salads, bread, pasta, etc. Amazing aroma and taste.
