The smoked deer boudin is some of the best I’ve had from anywhere

My favorite prepared item (so far) is the chicken sauce piquant.

We add some extra rotisserie chicken to it.

The hog head cheese is really good, the rabbit sausage is really good

Good idea. I agree that it is a can't miss item among their prepared foods. The boneless cornbread stuffed chickens are probably my favorite item. The regular boudin and the hogs head cheese are also can't miss.

If I had time for only one stop it would be Kartchners. Can attest that their smoked boudin and smoked sausage are top shelf.

I give slight edges to Billy's on the boudin (I said slight) and to Rabideaux's smoked andouille.

The stuffed ponce is real good. The soups are good. All the stuffed chicken thighs. You just can't go wrong with anything there.

I’ll disagree with Tulane,,,,the cracklings are all that

I look forward to work trips to North or Central La., just to be able to grab a bag of those as road snacks.

a vendor served a bunch of prepared items from there when we were hunting with them earlier this year. The stuffed pork chops were amazing as were the smothered cabbage and potatoes. Can't go wrong with anything there.

This has been at the top of my list for next time I make it out there. Glad to see it’s good.

No.

Doesn't even belong in a discussion with Kartchners.
