Hubby makes his own. It’s not that difficult.

Billy's in Krotz Springs is meh at best. OG location is better but still not as good as Kartchner's.

The best boudin I've had was from Don's, but they are not as consistent as the other three.

This is very true! When you get a good batch it's awesome.

The whole "capital of boudin" thing has really done wonders for Scott believe it or not. That place was on the decline in the 2000's when people started picking Broussard and Youngsville more to build a house. The only thing there that generated any tax revenue there was a Sam's Club that ended up moving to Lafayette down the road.

This thread makes me think that we need a TD boudin tasting meet up.

Bring a box of what you think is the best and have someone in charge of the blind part of the test.

Try their chicken "boudin" ball. It's DELICIOUS and very spicy.

I always have one(JUST ONE) when I pass by their Krotz Springs or Scott locations.

How does the OT feel about Veillons?

I don't think enough people know about or pass by Veillon's but I know it's DAMNED good.

Next time i'll bring a bigger ice chest.

I've not had boudin from a lot of different places but love the stuff that is made by Juneau's in Marksville and would bring some home every time I went up that way.

Over the years I let a lot of folks try what I brought home and the last time I was up in Marksville I had enough 5-10 lb. orders to fill two 48 qt. ice chests and it cost me near $400 to checkout. It's been a few years now, so I'm sure that same order would be a good bit more.
