Im pretty sure they shut that down a while back. There was a thread on here about it being the last one in the country.

I thought I heard they weren't going to open it back up. I hope I heard wrong.

Just order a family meal with two large sides and 7 biscuits all for yourself.

It’s not the same. As a high school kid with a black hole for a stomach, I would:
1) Get all the spicy wings
2) 2 spicy breasts
3) huge bowl of red beans no rice
4) 6 biscuits

I would put the breast meat in the red beans.
Then, dip my wings in the red beans.
Clean the bowl with biscuits.

One day I want to order 15 spicy legs and have them drop them fresh and wait. Along with large Red beans and a large Mash w/gravy, and biscuits.

They will try to prep the sides and drink when I order and I will have to tell them to wait until the chicken is ready.

The buffet and dine-in are both still closed. Drive thru only right now. I believe it will re-open eventually, no telling when

I’m not from south LA, but I love Popeye’s and you’re my hero.

I use to smash the Popeyes Buffet on William's twice a week. Worked for Caro and we delivered to them, they were our last stop, so if we ened up with an extra case of red beans or something..... they got them. They took really good care of us.

Back in the 90s (ya I'm old) there was a popyeyes buffet in Morgan City we would hit after hunting the delta - we would crush it and always take a plate out for the dog as well ;)

We destroyed the buffet in Galliano many times before and after fishing. I assume it is gone.

It’s gonna be greasy as hell. The chicken needs to rest under heat lamps to drain a little or it’s nasty.

Yea, an El Paso exists in its place now. Loved hitting up that Popeyes.

The buffet is definitely closed for now. And may never reopen. My wife knows the owner and he said the plan was to shut the buffet down, but there's been a bunch of backlash from local Lafayette people. The place has the nostalgia of being the last remaining Popeye's buffet.

Last I heard it's still up in the air, but even if it comes back, the building will be demolished and rebuilt in the near future.
