How much do you normally spend a week at the grocery store?

Not talking about eating out for lunch or dinner. Just what you buy at the grocery store per week. And how much of that you waste.

All I know is the cost of my July 4th BBQ was down 16 cents this year.

Are you looking for a slice of demographics to compare to, because our weekly spend for 6 of us won't compare to others well. But the answer is lots.

2 people. We eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at home 5 days a week.
About $150 is average. Can sometimes be around $200. Rarely more than that (not including liquor store purchases here which is about another $150 a month)

I make a big trip every other week and it’s usually around 200-250. I’ll make a few in between runs for 30-50 bucks here and there.
That’s for me n Mrs jkyle. Son who’s 3 and stepsons (11&13) that are only with us 1/2 the time. I shop at a ghetto grocery store though bc im kinda cheap when it comes to groceries

About $300 a month. It's not expensive when you don't buy junk food.

I don’t have a clue. Probably $250 to $350.
What I’ve noticed lately is the proteins sure seem to be more costly.

For three people, about $150 tops. Tend to eat at home almost every meal. Shop at Aldi almost exclusively. I do most of the shopping and Aldi is so pared down, I can get in and out quickly. This also includes alcohol (beer and wine). Aldi has a bit of a cult following and there is a chance they might not have what I'm looking for. But for produce, meat and staples, you can't beat it.

The wife and I average between $650-700 a month for groceries and any liquor we use.
So, $162-$175 a week in groceries.

Family of 4, about 175-200 per week. This is up from 125-150 a year ago.

It depends a lot on what I want to eat. It's just me so if I'm being thrifty, like $125. If I'm feeling lavish and want to try out new stuff with expensive meats and spices the only limit is what's reasonable to me.
The most I've spent in recent memory was for Christmas and Easter, which involved a standing prime rib roast and a leg of lamb respectively. That got to like $150-175 for a single meal for me and my Dad.

$250-$300 per week for the five of us. We try to eat organic when possible. Organic and gluten free (daughter has celiac) are considerably more expensive ways to eat.
Junk food is cheap. Healthy is more expensive. It sucks but life is about choices.

$225/week for four adults (Two teens, two parents). Food costs have risen quickly in the last ten years and bonkers in the last two.

Myth. But maybe true when you are wasting money on organic.

I have no idea just like I have no idea what my wife’s budget is at Christmas for the kids and grandkids , siblings etc , because the answer is always “whatever it takes “
