I'm a PK guy also, but not a fan of the newer models from the last 3-4 years. See if you can find a used PK with the "slide" vents, rather than the "radial" vents. The original models are what you want. Those were made in America.
Pot roast. I don't use a crockpot or instant pot. Makes the meat to stringy.
Sear the meat in a good ceramic dutch oven, then make the mirepoix in the drippings adding flour and tomato paste. Put the roast back in, one box of bone broth and a cup of wine. Bay leaf. Put in oven at 275 for 4-5 hours. Serve over mashed potatoes.

Look hard at Facebook Marketplace and PK Facebook groups for used PK360. You can hang an ash bucket off the back and use paintbrush to clean out ash. Power wash out hard grease once a year. There is a third party accessory called the "game changer" that works as a heat diffuser so you can use the whole cooking surface to smoke, kinda like a green egg. Will definitely last 10 years.

The Iron Giant is so underated.
Sugar Fire is good enough.
Give it to my daughter for her (hopefully) vet school tuition. I thankfully have her next two years of private college paid off thanks to my wife winning $250k scratch off during a vacation several years ago. Taxes on that were damn near half if I recall.
Deluca's. Not for the pizza (which is good. Portnoy gave an 8.something to it), but the burger. True New York steak house like burger. Long wait.
Well thanks for the jinx. Got the TEAMS message at 9:43am "Hey, do you have a second...". Jumped on the call, HR present, you know the drill. Will be let go August 30th with additional month of salary.
Probably 20-30 people getting the same call.
31 years in IT, kind of sick of it. House paid for, daughter's undergrad set aside (she'll be junior, two more years), wife making low 6 figures.
How to transition to an "old man" job for the next 5 years?

Going there this weekend for college parent's weekend. We've had the Beauty Shop in Cooper-Young, Rendevous several times (better than expected), Cozy Corner, Dino's Italian (basis red sauce stuff, but love the place), Gus' Fried Chicken, Grisante's (towards Germantown), but my favorite has been Second Line.

Junior year of high school.I remember it as the most fun of my high school years. Senior year sucked. My English class read 1984 in 1984.Always thought that was cool.Rocked Prince Purple Reign, Springsteen Born in the USA, and U2 Unforgettable Fire all year.It was the best summer of my life.
Not near campus but Pizzeria Ruby. A lot more than pizza.

One. It was a 8-10 rednecks at a bowling alley in Texarkana. I made the mistake of standing over a guy I had just decked and gloating and didn't see it coming from his friend. The guy who (sucker) punched me lost his balance and we wound up wresting on the ground till it got broken up. The guy I decked lost a tooth and my parents had to pay some dental bills. My dad made me work it off in the summer at some sweaty arse yard mowing jobs.

I was born in Southwest Arkansas and have lived in Fayetteville since I started college in 1985. The growth, especially in Rogers and Bentonville the last 15-20 years has been unbelievable.
Fayetteville was an absolute blast in the late 80's and the 90's.
The Texas student population growth is starting to annoy me. I used to think I would live in Fayetteville all my life, but I am looking at options elsewhere when I retire. Don't think I can afford it up here for much longer.

Made it through the first weekend. Had to meet a friend at my local dive bar yesterday to give him some fantasy football money we won. Had a Heineken 0.0. I may be out of the woods. My goal is my first drink will be at the lobby bar of the Peabody in Memphis on February 9th when I go to visit my daughter who is in college.
Cozy Corner. It's in midtown though. Bologna sandwich and the wings are the highlights.
