Turkey at Thanksgiving needs to go

I thought the same thing until my brother in law smoked one a couple of years ago. It was delicious.

I'd still rather prime rib though

I’ve never seen that before. Turkey at Thanksgiving needs to go. I’d much rather have Prime Rib or literally anything else.

Agree. Turkey sucks.

Chatty people who want to talk after Thanksgiving lunch when we should turn on a football game and take a short tryptophan nap to get ready for dinner,

I smoked a few turkey breasts for Thanksgiving several years back. I had a big offset smoker and plenty of time, so instead of a whole bird I just got two breasts. Juiciest, most flavorful turkey I've ever prepared. I can't stand oven turkey unless it is a drumstick. I'd much rather cook a ham on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Smoked Turkey is a superior product to roasted or fried for me. I like turkey on thanksgiving because its the only day I really eat it, plus making a gumbo with the leftover carcass/meat is the best.

If you plan on roasting buying a "fresh" turkey and brining makes a world of difference.

Try wrapping the Turducken in a bacon braid. Mind-numbingly delicious.

seriously all thanksgiving food. I really think it's all hype, and none really enjoys that shite that much..

If cranberry gel, stuffing, and baked turkey were that good people would eat it more than once year

I honestly love Thanksgiving food. There are several places in town I go specifically to order a plate of sides and get them to pour gravy all over it.

I'm a sucker for plates of mush all mixed together and casseroles

My mother bakes a turkey just for the juices that she uses in her home made stuffing. My father and I eat it raw as she is preparing it (It is delicious) and she cusses us every year. My father also fries 1 maybe 2 turkeys and they are what most of my large family eat. Mom will make great turkey salad with the baked turkey left overs.

My least favorite holiday. Supposed to be a celebration of the guy who gave us the beatitudes, and instead we get assholes clogging up the road so they can spoil their children with shite they don’t need. Supposed to be a time for families to come together and have down time without any worries, and we fricked it up with holiday shopping.

I don't know, my mom used to have people in the neighborhood pay her to make trays of her cornbread dressing for their own Thanksgiving. The things I would give to have her here one more time to cook Thanksgiving dinner for us. I can get it close, but it'll never be the same as hers.

We'll see you're wrong too. A thick slice needs to be on the day after turkey sandwich with cornbread dressing, Bunny bread and gravy. Maybe a little coleslaw for crunch.
