I understand that I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to food. But how on earth can anyone look at the menu at Girl and the Goat and think "can't miss"?
I'd rather go to Outback and save $100
Well maybe it is all hype, but I will report back my findings.

not in my opinion, it was excellent... i forgot all the different things we ordered between the table, but that wood grilled broccoli was outstanding.. I only remember that one, because Ive never had "stand out" broccoli before..

Girl and Goat was one of the best meals I've had. Also loved the broccoli dish mentioned above - that and the pork shank were the highlights(we did not, however, end up having anything with goat).

Ada Street Rest. & Les Nomades.
Give them a try
Also really like Ba Ba Reeba

Best bar by Wrigley?
Best bar on Rush Street?
Best Chicago hot dog?
Suggestions needed, go.

I've been to Chi a few times but my wife hasn't. I really don't have time to make ressies and everything, so we really aren't going to go anywhere good this trip.
Oh well. The list looks amazing though. Girl and the Goat is great.

I'm going the exact same weekend!
We have flights booked for that weekend as well. An unexpected trip for work came up and I'll be flying in from Bahrain on Thursday around 5pm and our flight to Chicago is Friday mid morning. Not really sure if I can pull that off.
If so we should have an OTGT in Chicago! (just kidding)

Serious question, but have you ever seen the menu there? It's a very good restaurant.

Chicagos best deep dish is Pequods. Much better than giordanos. Lous is the second best
Purple pig is a much better option than girl and goat. Less hooPla but much better
Portillos beef is much better than als. Get sweet peppers and dipped.
Hot dogs are gross. Nothing about xhucago makes them any better. Dat dog is better than anywhere in chi
Chicago is a miserable city. You are lucky it's a short trip

Longman and Eagle for lunch or brunch
+1
So glad I went there instead of wasting my day at Hot Dougs.

Plan on winter weather.
Your list looks good, although I haven't tried all of those places.
Someone mentioned Frontera Grill earlier and someone else bashed it. I thought it was damned good.

Chicago is awesome in the summer to me but to each his own.
To the OP:
I enjoyed Gibsons. Food was very good and the martinis were sublime.

When I went to frontera, I had some big plate of supposed flank steak, chicken, and a bunch of sides. The 'flank' steak could have come from your neighborhood texmex joint and the chicken was just as bad. Both were almost cold

Consider The Weber Grill restaurant for steak. Everything is cooked on a weber grill.
I went to one of these a few years ago near my hotel in Indianapolis. It was okay. There was nothing special about it. Some things were good/average and some not so much. We had a large table and sampled a lot of things. Overall, I didn't much enjoy the meal.

Girl and the goat looks like the most pretentious menu I've ever seen

Go to Lou Malnatis before you go to Giordanos. I went with a few friends for 3 days over the summer and pretty much went every where you posted. Probably the best place we went to, was the one I expected the least out of. If you get a chance, go to Chicago Bagel Authority (CBA). So good
