Yes, there's actually a well documented, scientific reason for this. Believe it or not some people are genetically predispositioned for it to taste like soap, basically.
I like cilantro personally.
Had no idea about this, but I don’t like that shite. Now I know why.

Stevia.
This is scientifically proven as about 1/4 of the population is opposed to the aftertaste.

Do people really have strong opinions on cilantro?
Yes. I used to go to a Mexican place that had great salsa with lots of cilantro in it. One day I went and there was no cilantro in the salsa anymore. A week or two later I mentioned this in the presence of my brother and sister-in-law. She said, "Oh yeah, we complained about how much cilantro was in their salsa so they took it out."
Another one is durian.

There is nothing worse than when you go to a restaurant and taste cilantro in the salsa.

Nah, there's a definite middle ground. I don't like pickles on a hamburger or pickle spears like at a sandwich shop, but if you slice up some dills, batter them, and give them to me with some ranch, well that's a different story entirely.
Same here. I hate them in sandwiches. And don’t eat then plain. But fried pickles are great. Also like a good relish added to chicken salad or on a hot dog.
