There's a certain segment of the population that has a gene that causes cilantro to have a soap taste... no matter which batch the get it will always taste like soap.
I'm glad I don't have that gene bc cilantro is fricking great.

Not sure if it's true or not but a program on public radio a few years back did a segment that stated that a high percentage of what gets served in restaurants as Calamari is actually pork rectums.
I don't remember the exact percentage but it was something like 75%. They also did a blind test with some Calamari snobs and none of them could tell the difference.
