re: Would you drive a station wagon? - MountainTiger
The new Cross Country actually looks pretty stylish for a Volvo. My last car was a '98 Cross Country and I loved it. It was the old boxy style and it didn't look like much but it ran great and was very utilitarian....

re: What are your experiences with snow? - MountainTiger
I agree with Roger. Huge difference between wet snow and dry snow. Wet snow sucks. We get that usually twice a year at the beginning and the end of the season. The rest of the time you can just brush it off with a broom unless you get a big dump. Then after that, it just melts in a couple of days so...
I grant your point otherwise, though
OK, fair enough, the hairpin is certainly iconic. But it's still a boring corner...F1 cars whizzing by at 25 miles an hour. ...

re: Nascar is about to die - MountainTiger
I was thinking the other day that the majority of the excitement in F1 this year was due to Hamilton and/or Vettel having to make their way through the field. That's not what the sport was built on. They used to be able to pass at Monaco. Now there probably aren't any on track passes at about...

re: Nascar is about to die - MountainTiger
To Indycar's credit, they seem to be focusing on this with their new aero kits supposedly. Their racing has been the most consistently interesting over the last few years, and their 'at track' experience is second to none. Allowing fans tons of garage access for a reasonable price, I had more...

re: Nascar is about to die - MountainTiger
The aero of the cars is making it increasingly difficult to pass. That was the major draw as a race fan, the close racing that F1 and IndyCar couldn't replicate.
Yep, that's a problem across the board in almost all forms of racing. For example, when the FIA changed the chassis formul...

re: Nascar is about to die - MountainTiger
They could stop going to some of their tracks 2 times a year and actually start going to tracks in areas they have fans.
Or moar road courses. A NASCAR race at Road Atlanta might actually be pretty cool. F1 has been doing the same stupid thing. There's a Grand Prix in freaking Az...

re: Nascar is about to die - MountainTiger
I love most forms of racing (but I'm not a NASCAR fan) and the sport as a whole seems to be on a downturn. It's just too expensive for the teams at nearly every level. There are exceptions. For instance, MotoGP seems to be doing OK. It's a lot less expensive to run a couple of motorcycles than a ...
