Fast Food vs. Keto

With few exceptions, chicken wings, chicken shawarma and gyro, crappy salad etc, drive-thru for low carb is a unicorn, If I'm wrong please correct me. For everyone from diabetics to people trying to shed a few, keto is a good option, but everyone from high end to fast food is very hostile to keto and low carb in general.
Restaurants love to sneak sugar into everything, I had braised pork cheeks at Ruffino's Saturday, very sugary, WTF?? I hope we're about to reach a tipping point where health is concerned and restaurant see keto as a money maker.
If you are into keto, are there secret dishes I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

Not realistically sustainable long term. Calories in calories out. Just focus on that

The only drive thru low carb chain I can think of is a Jimmy Johns unwhich. Trying to do low carb in addition to calorie watching and made the mistake of getting the wrong subway salad. Got the chicken onion teriyaki and it was full of sugar. Would get the buffalo next time. Not a fan of subway, but there are a million of them and not many fast food options as you mentioned.

Seriously - best option is to walk into a grocery store and grab a rotisserie chicken.

Keto fast food is tough. Panda Express, Terriyaki chicken no sauce, their mushroom chicken isn’t bad as long as it is a small box. Chick fil a grilled chicken patty. If you are truly doing keto and trying to stay under 20carbs your only option is to meal prep or take leftovers. Fast food is not designed to be healthy. It is designed to be fast and unfortunately fast does not equate to low carb. When I did the low carb diet for a few months it really opens your eyes to how many carbs you take in a day and how quickly they add up. Once you find a routine to get into low carb or keto, the weight will drop off.

I used to get a Baconator-no bun w/side salad at Wendys, but they don't offer side salads anymore. At Chick-Fil-A, you can do grilled nuggets w/salad. Chipotle burrito bowl with cauliflower rice isn't bad.

I wasn't really strict when I did Keto, and I usually got the Spicy Ceasar Salad at Wendy's and just tossed the croutons. I looked up the nutrition info on it, and I think it was right at the daily 20-22g of carbs with the croutons. Wendy's will also do a lettuce bun for their burgers.

Bunless burgers. A cheese only double stack from Wendy's with no bun is 2g carb. Bacon double cheese burger from BK with no bun is 1g carb.
Depending on your carb goals for the day, fried bone-in chicken is relatively low carb.

Fat isn't bad for you, but feel free to stick with the 1950's food pyramid that says processed sugars are just great for you. And no one is suggesting that should be what you eat for every meal every day.

They are cooking for taste, not health.

Obviously everything without the bun, but baconator no ketchup, baconzilla from checkers no cheese sauce, chick fil a salad with grilled nuggets also their grilled chicken sandwich, double qp plain from McDonald’s, sub in a tub from jersey mikes, Unwich at Jimmy Johns, keto bowl at chipotle. There’s not a whole lot but it can definitely be done.

Popeyes blackened chicken is the ultimate keto option, but it’s inconvenient. Delicious, no carbs, tons of protein, but you have to pull up for minimum 5 minutes every time

BRAISED PORK CHEEKS – 48-hr. braised pork cheeks, Benton’s bacon jam, pork jus, butternut squash purée
Were you not already familiar with bacon jam when ordering? Sugar is how it becomes jam
Celebratory nicer restaurants like Ruffino's would not profit off turning their menu all keto, and I'm surprised you think they would. I imagine if we asked for the numbers on their 10 most popular dishes, they would all be high carb. They're an Italian restaurant, and they're a special occasion place.

I'm not into keto, but I'd have gotten this if I was trying to be healthy at Ruffino's
GRILLED TUNA – Blue crabmeat, lemon butter, Broccolini
Maybe this
STEAK OSCAR – Grilled 8 oz. filet, asparagus, béarnaise, jumbo lump crabmeat
For fast food, I haven't done it in probably over a year but CFA grilled nuggets plus a side salad was my go-to for a while.

I should have mentioned that I'm avoiding carbs and doing keto from type 2 diabetes, no carbs and a little weight loss keeps my blood numbers good. So it is sustainable to me, I never want to be insulin dependent.
I missed the sugar at Ruffino's pork cheeks because of the low light level and old eyes.
My 'Go To" keto cuisine in middle eastern Lebanese as long as I stay away from the rice. Other than that, the entire menu is open to me.
But it gets rough on a limited cuisine, I'm the type who get tired of something quickly. I am so sick of my wife buying a rotisserie chicken every time she leaves the house. Yes, I make everything from gumbo to salad to stir fry with them.
Thank you for your help F&DB.

no.
you do understand basic chemistry and how your body responds to various proteins, nutrients and sugars?
i'm sure there are millions of diabetics who would LOVE to hear that calories are calories and they can eat and drink whatever they want.

I don't think fat is bad for you, but I also don't think eating extremely processed fast food (with or without bun) is a healthy option.
